Clover13
Member reported running into this error some of the time when uploading to a topic. Same file uploads a second try. MOV is an acceptable file type at both default level and member group level. There is no size limitation (or issue as this is a small file around 6MB) for the member group or member. Anyone have any idea where this error comes from? Edited April 27, 2022 by Clover13 David N.
Marc
That doesnt actually look to be a dialog from our software. Are you able to reproduce this?
Clover13
@Marc Stridgen, I was thinking the same thing. I haven't been able to reproduce it, but also have no idea where this alert even came from. The color scheme also doesn't match my Invision Community theme. Marc
I would check the person is not running any browser plugins that may be causing this
Clover13
@Marc Stridgen Looks like it could be related to the CKEDITOR if it's the same one used by this software? This issue was opened just a few weeks ago, same dialog popup. https://jira.xwiki.org/projects/CKEDITOR/issues/CKEDITOR-431?filter=allopenissues Related to: https://github.com/ckeditor/ckeditor4/issues/5095 Edited April 27, 2022 by Clover13

This looks to be what is being reported here.
Nathan Explosion
Drag and drop a MOV file directly into the editor (not the file area) and you see that pop-up for a short period of time - see attached video. Clover13
So use the choose file link rather than drag and drop is the solution?
Jim M
3 minutes ago, Clover13 said: So use the choose file link rather than drag and drop is the solution? As Nathan outlined, this is due to dropping the video file into the editor but the file still uploads. I have tagged this to our developers to review further. With that said, if you drag/drop or use the choose files area, it should work as you're avoiding CKEditor. David N. and Clover13
Management Matt Posted June 15, 2022 Management Share Posted June 15, 2022 I believe CKEditor fixed this in their 4.18.1 version. Invision Community 4.6 uses 4.18.0. We have upgraded to 4.19 for Invision Community 4.7, so the issue should be resolved then.

Marc
It actually looks like this is a ckeditor bug unfortunately. We're aware of the issue and its being discussed. David N.
David N.
I'm still having it here in Invision Community v4.7.3 when trying to drag and drop .zip files to the text area:
Marc
Unfortunately this is correct. At present you would need to drag to the upload area, rather than the text box, as there is no resolve for this at the present time David N.
