Uninstalling IPS Converter application?

We've been on IPS for several months now after converting from XenForo and it appears Google has updated all SERPs to the new IPS URLs.

I understand it provides automatic redirects from the old URLs to IPS URLs. I don't believe we need these redirects anymore.

Is there any harm in uninstalling the Converter application?

ACP -> System -> Applications -> in Converters app row click in the menu and then Uninstall.

When I last checked it Convert app was locked and can't be disabled.

Can't be disabled, but can be uninstalled.

@Optic14Once uninstalled - if you want to remove it from the list of 'Applications not currently uninstalled' then the installation files will need to be deleted from your server.

Is there any harm in not uninstalling it? To be 100% sure I would contact the support staff in the member support area.

We recommend leaving the converter application installed, since it contains the data require for URL redirects (even if Google etc have updated their index, there may be other sites that are linking to topics on your community). Uninstalling the Converter will stop these links working, once you do this you cannot put it back in place.

As the convertor application has more functionality built in than one would ever guess than there may be value in adding a warning message advising against uninstalling it.
