Michael R Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I think my members are the dumbest on the planet. When uploading images they are using attachments to insert the image they THINK they are uploading to a gallery album. They also do this when attempting to insert a video link in @Mike John's Videos application -- they put the video link in the editor instead of in the Video URL field. Ugghhh. Is there a way I can remove the Insert other media button from the editor there?
chilihead Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I agree for the first post (not the comments) remove the ability to upload images, in databases and in Gallery. Gallery is to upload to the Gallery and users can become confused and add to posts here, and in databases, we use the image fields, with the editor it takes that control away. As @Joel R pointed out after I made that request for databases, the same problem exists for Gallery. We should at least have a setting.

kar3n2 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Im thinking to get rid of the gallery full stop. Ive mentioned elswhere that we might just as well create a forum and let them add attachments and discussion about them as a topic. Gallery will cause complete chaos for sure ...

chilihead Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Try editing your language file until IPS can address. Maybe at step 3 where it says Add Information, under it, in red text put:Do not upload Gallery images here Images here appear in description only or similar

chilihead Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Search languages for Add Information. If more than one comes up make sure it is for Gallery uploading. Edit file, add line break after Add Information, add red text message.

Adriano Faria Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I was about to release a quick plugin to avoid this but there's a bug on Gallery: We'll have to wait.

Daniel F Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Thats a Screenshot from adding an image. The only bug here is the title 'editing'

Michael R Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 This is great. Would be good if you could remove the Insert Other Media button too.
SJ77 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 What about a plugin to avoid adding attachments to album description? 50 minutes ago, Michael R said: This is great. Would be good if you could remove the Insert Other Media button too. This would be great also
