JensS Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 The Chat on the bottom is much more accessible and less of a hustle than to have an additional window open. There already is an implementation: http://www.arrowchat.com/ Cheers
BomAleold Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Bottom bar with chat such as facebook! good +1 ;) IP.Chat I would buy if you could use it on the homepage forum and let users at any time to hide it!
Jelly Belly™ Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I would let my chat licence expire if it went down the facebook route
RObiN-HoOD Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 This has already been suggested in the past. We still await to see the future of IP.Chat.
miraclesun Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 i feel like this application is just going to stop being supported
bfarber Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 No, it isn't going to stop being supported. In fact, we do have extensive plans to expand the application. It just isn't the top priority on our todo list at present is all. :)
Jinkler Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 The Chat on the bottom is much more accessible and less of a hustle than to have an additional window open. There already is an implementation: http://www.arrowchat.com/ Cheers Thanks for the link. Members on one of my sites have been requesting something similar. It also integrates with IPB: http://www.arrowchat.com/ipb-chat/ :)
steve922 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Just be careful if you are hosted by ipb. I bought this and had to remove it because they (ipb) said it used too many resources and kept crashing my forum. The members loved it though.

VR6Pete Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I use comet chat on my website. Works a treat
Makoto Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I swear I posted about developing integration with ArrowChat somewhere before but I can't find the thread, I had no idea they offered stock IPB integration now. That's very, very tempting. Their statement that it works on shared hosting is pretty bold though. I can imagine something like this being very resource intensive. I'm not surprised IPS hosting doesn't allow it. As far as I know they still don't allow people to use the Shoutbox hook for the same reason.
Joriz Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Sorry but I don't like that. I more like a user friendly chat which many users can easily use on small and big screens. I don't like such a small windowed chat for community chats.
Makoto Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Sorry but I don't like that. It's okay, I forgive you for not liking it. I more like a user friendly chat which many users can easily use on small and big screens. I don't like such a small windowed chat for community chats. If you mean Arrowchat, it seems quite user friendly to me. It even has a mobile version for small screens.
VyVid Productions Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I think IP.Chat and a Facebook-like chat messaging system serve two different audiences. IP.Chat is like a community chatroom while a Facebook-like system could be compared to Private Messaging. I don't really think there'd be a need for a Facebook-like system, but hopefully PMs will be upgraded again in 4.0. I still think Private Messaging on IPB is better than any other forum software's version. (We should keep Facebook features on Facebook and Forum features on Forum software.) :)

I personally use IRC and an IRC webclient on my forum over IP.Chat, but I still wouldn't use Arrowchat to replace it. They serve different purposes.

Yea, I could really use a chat application with more than 1 room. My community has multiple sub-communities and they don't play well together in the same sandbox, if you know what I mean.

salue Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 anyone using arrow chat on their community would like to see it first hand :3
