Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted July 26, 201113 yr I don't who this is affecting but it appears that some IPS "Active Customers" are finding their accounts being modified to just "Members" only status with no access to the support forums or the Resources website. Does anyone know what's going on and why there was no explanation?
July 26, 201113 yr Yea, I just noticed when trying to view an IPS Marketplace topic it said I don't have permission... Then I viewed my profile... WTF! Hope I didn't do anything wrong to get it taken away
July 26, 201113 yr Author I jumped into chat and discovered it happened to someone else. It was working fine until a few moments ago and then #WHAM# it struck my account. There was no message as to why this happened or what and I double checked to ensure that my license was still active and it still is, through September. I've been a loyal customer since 2004 and I find it peculiar that this would happen to such a long-standing customer.
July 26, 201113 yr Yeah.. I quickly went to see if my licenses had expired or something... but I'm still good until the 31st of August.. How sad.
July 26, 201113 yr Me too.. - lol however when i refreshed the page there were page errors everywhere so they might be doing backups or someone changed some code lol
July 26, 201113 yr Author Someone in chat suggested that to wait but I find it odd that it only affected some accounts. If this were a side effect of some upgrade, it should have affected every account, not just a select few.
July 26, 201113 yr Might just be a bug... Like the people online or something idk. We just gotta wait to see, because Im pretty sure they wouldnt just change member status with time left lol
July 26, 201113 yr Author Far as I'm aware of, I haven't. Matter of fact, I rarely download anything through the client center. While I maintain a backup copy of one download in case something happens to my site, I let the IPS staff handle every upgrade. I've even went out of my way to report anyone who distributes IPS' software through other sites ... I just find it odd that there has been no notice regarding this current SNAFU.
July 26, 201113 yr Hmm... Everyone log out and back in... I think that's what fixed me :D. I followed the suggestion in one of the forums I could no longer access.

July 26, 201113 yr Try the following steps: 1) Log out 2) Close your browser (if using a Mac, quit with Cmd+Q rather than just closing) 3) Come back and log in If that doesn't work, please submit a ticket. Most of you all seem to have "Active Customer" though :)
July 26, 201113 yr Author Finally working correctly ... sheesh ... my head hurts. *holds head from migraine headache* the whole world is spinning .... ahhhhhhh
July 26, 201113 yr So much confusion going on right now. Having a hard time logging in and such. But seems to be working...for now.
July 26, 201113 yr We've been investigating some issues related to permission syncing, and you guys are being affected by small problems with the syncing. It does not necessarily indicate a problem with your account. If you don't have correct permissions, and the above steps don't work, please submit a ticket so we can troubleshoot further.
July 26, 201113 yr Author It took me some time. But, I ended up having to delete all of my browser data (while keeping my bookmarks), closing my browser and logging in several times before it finally cleared. Then, for some reason, it fixed itself. It was frustrating but eventually worked itself out with all of my web browsers.
July 26, 201113 yr I'm having this issue. I have tried what Mark says and it doesn't work :S You need to log in with the same Email address and password as the client area after purchasing a license ;)
