Just like invisionize at the bottom: http://forums.invisionize.com/index.php The whole management color code bar, it should be included in IPB, being as you can color code your different groups, but noone but the admins, or witty people know what they mean. :P Sure you can mod it, but mods go out of date, plus code edits are messy.

User control of captcha

Another suggestion from me: a lot of us are experiencing a significant uptick in spambot registrations that are getting past Captcha. Hence, I'd like to suggest the ability to put some variables (color palettes, fonts, distortions, captcha image dimensions, captcha image backgrounds, etc.) into the hands of users as config items - allowing us to have significantly varied captcha images from IPB forum to forum. In that manner, it would be a little more difficult for spambots to register without human intervention...

is there a Hybrid mode?

There's another forum software out there that has a hybrid mode, which is just like the 'outline mode' except it also have all of the post underneath the outline in linear mode. Is it possible to do that with this software? Thanks in advance.

New setting

Hi, I'd like to see a new setting in ACP Home > Edit Member Search Form. There is currently an option to query all those members with "Less than n posts". It would be good if this could be changed to toggle "Less than" and "More than" as at the moment you can't use this page to query all those members with more than n number of posts, only less than.

Suspension/Banning Reasons

I have a lot of modifications, so i could suggest a lot of things which should be built in... But this is one that I think is very necessary and currently there isn't a publicly released mod for it. If a member is suspended or banned, the reason needs to show up when the memebr goes to the board. They can't read their PMs, so there needs to be a reason shown there on the index page.

Add new "Can post Links" permission mask

As per the topic. Similar to Web Hosting Talk, have a permission mask seperate from BBCode on either the member groups or forums specifying whether the user is allowed to post messages with URLs in them. This would allow you to deter spammers, as every post their bot would try to make would be blocked with "You cannot post messages with web site addresses" or something in them.

Two Domains - One forum

Can the forum be configured so that I can have two different domains point to it and work? Both domains are on the same server and I can point to forums.domain1.com and it works fine with that domain in the forum's conf file. Now if I have forums.domain2.com pointed to the same forum it will load the main page no problem but then it will revert to the domain1.com when you load further pages. Thanks for any suggestions.

Multi Recount/Rebuild

I usually run most of the Recount & Rebuild Tools on a regular basis. My suggestion is to add a checkbox for each tool and have buttons located at the top and bottom to run all tools selected with the checkbox. This isn't a major improvement, but I would certainly find it useful.

I think it should be kept hidden and private from other members but not from mods or admins. Let the user decide if they wish to disable it from other members seeing their Display Name History.

When you first set up your IPB, several pre-made groups are created and have their group IDs stored in the conf_global.php file: Guests, Validating, Root Admin, & Members. There are two other groups that get created, but that don't have these static group IDs: Administrator, and Banned. I think that at least for the Banned group, you should also include a row in the conf_global.php file for them, as 'banned_group'. The reason I suggest this is that for mods that get written that want to move members to the Banned group, right now we just have to code in a '5' for the group to move them to and hope that the people using the mod didn't change that. I think it would be good if you could make it so that you dont have to fiddle around with URL address when you have a portal...... It should be just a case of turning it on, and that auto replaces the index.... so we when we have url:- www.net-clan.com/fourm when we add a portal it still is www.net-clan.com/forum NOT http://www.net-clan.com/forum/index.php?act=home so then i dont have to redo the 500 links i got dotted around the didfferent places i have the link. Custom field search condition

All fields on the Member page are searched based on "contains". Except the custom fields, they are "begin with". I suggest that it is changed to "contains". (Anyone who knows a mod for this?)

I think that much like the bot log, there should be a referral log, for when someone hits your site, you know where they came from, and what page they went directly to. I think this is an awesome feature. Help me know who is hotlinking to where (I'm getting a lot of what seems to be hotlinking, and I can't tell where)

Word replacement/highlighting

I want to be able to highlight certain words in every post and be able to control the way each word is highlighted. The highlighting may be a colour, bold text, italic text or strikethrough text. So if some one types security it automatically appears in the post as security in red text, or if the type bellbox that would appear as bellbox in blue text, etc etc. And ideally i'd like to be able to add and edit each word from the admin control panel. The BWF is sort of what i'm after, but need to keep the word but be able to adjust text as mentioned above.

One of my users recommended this and I thought I would suggest it. Member ranking that has 2 parts to it... number of posts, and length of time as member. In an effort to get people to post, but not spam. for example... to become a Gold Member you need to have 50 posts and be a member for 30 days. thoughts? Myr

I would LOVE to see the following added. I feel like IPB is falling behind in some ways.You know, you really ought to bring back the ModeratorCP to like /modcp/ or modcp.php or mod.php or index.php?act=modcp. And it should include all of the moderation tools including announcements, thread pruning, unapproved posts, warned posts, hidden posts, posts that have warnings (clicking on post/topic shows warnings given in popup). This would be great against piracy. But you dont have to encrypt every single file. What IPS should do, encrypt the files that only let hackers hack the IPB. Or if that cant be done, you could do something new for ipb 2.2 have like all the security/piracy in one folder. I dont know, if anyone agrees with me or can think of any other ideas would be great.
