Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted June 10, 200619 yr Please tell me if I'm wrong. With IPB 2.0 was there the ability to have polls but no replies? Either way, I'd like to see IPB have the built in ability to turn off replies in polls. Thanks! :)
June 10, 200619 yr I could've sworn this was already an option, but I can't find it... I think you're right, though.
June 10, 200619 yr It was in 2.0 I believe. When you first create the poll there used to be an option that said something like "No Replies in Poll" and by choosing that option members could only vote and not reply. I really need something like this because there are times I don't want replies to the polls.
June 11, 200619 yr Why would such a feature have been removed in 2.1.x? Perhaps the option is still there, but it's been moved?
June 11, 200619 yr Can't you just lock the topic? Nope. Cannot. I looked around and I can't lock the topic. I know I had seen the ability to have polls without replies in 2.0.4. If not, I'd like to see it as a feature for 2.2.
June 12, 200619 yr Can't you just lock the topic?Would locking the topic prevent people from voting? I don't know, I haven't tried it. But this still wouldn't help solve the problem. I remember that regular members of the prior IPB versions could create a "Poll Only" topic. Your suggestion would only let those who are moderators for that forum do that. I would like to see this feature returned to IPB.
June 12, 200619 yr It won't work. Locking it prevents people from voting. I don't know if "Poll Only" was just a staff thing tho. I never tried it since I'm the Root Admin on my board. Yes, we need the "Poll Only" feature returned to IPB. How about it Matt? Brandon? Please return this feature back to 2.1 or 2.2. :)
August 15, 200618 yr Yeah I wanted this last night but couldn't find it.I swear it was there before though!
August 16, 200618 yr I was looking for this recently too. If it's gone, please bring it back, but also have a permission switch for it in the ACP per group. :)
