I installed the Beta Version 2.2.0 as a test board, and tried a few things with it, not one of the skins I tried worked with it and they were all 2.1.X skins which work on 2.1.7 and when I tried to import a SQL Database it would not have it. I thought the purpose of releasing a Beta Version was to see if it was compatable with whats out there, so far I have not had very good results :( :( will this new version work with the skins and mods that are out there now? After I upgraded my large forum (1.9 mil posts) from v2.0.4 to v2.1.7 my members and I saw slightly slower performance and slightly higher server load with the same number of members online. My question is how will v2.2 compare to v2.1.7 in terms of speed and server load? Are we continuing to add features at the cost of lower performance? This is important to those of us with large busy forums.

Ok. Very simple: If you've an English and German Language Pack on your Board, you can use the german Buttons OR the English one. It Would be cool if it would be per language file,the german language pack uses the german buttons if installed, if not, it uses the english ones.

ipb 2.2 again no date conversion option for international users... Still ipb 2.2 is not giving any option to display dates and time in other languages... Only calander section still translates all the dates and time not forum itself... This is a big lack of feature for Ipb and still there...

l've mentioned this before, but l'll do it again. l'd like to see some functionality in the Trash Can. As it stands, once a post is deleted it is moved to the Trash Can and becomes a topic. If the post was deleted by mistake l'd like the option of restoring it, but because it's now a topic l can't. l know l could move it back and merge it back in, but that shouldn't be necessary. :)

Why isn't that function available for everyone? When my users edit there posts they (most of the time) add an extra line with "Edit: The reason" just to clarify the changes. It would be great if there's always an extra field to add the reason and with an option in the admincp to make it oblige (or not). I don't think I'm the only one who likes such a small change! :)

When inserting email, URL or Image and you click cancel (on the JS prompt) then either a null link or blank image. I am using IE7. Also, the extra formatting needs and option of 'Normal' as there is no way to switch back to a normal font when you have used a sub/sup or strikethrough format (well I could not find one). When clicking the smilie button in quick edit (and fast reply), the smilie window loads and but then hides (have to tab or click to get back to smilies) ... should this not be displayed on top ?. (again, I am using IE7).

Ok, maybe some of these things are already in beta2, so please don't flame me o:) 1. Ability to view gender in classic profile, and ability to set gender in My Controls -> Edit Profile Information (or something like that) 2. Advanced trash-can. Ability for moderators to leave notes to other moderators why some post/thread was deleted. 3. A little bit tweaked online indicator, which I've already suggested here :)

First of all, Kudos for the reworked editors. This is a major step up for IPB (IMHO). I particularly like that the RTE works in multiple browsers, and that you can toggle between RTE and standard editor without losing your work. However, in my test post, I discovered several issues with pasted posts (posts that were prepared with an HTML editor, then copied and pasted into the editor). Although the pasted post looked fine in the editor, when I clicked on submit: Pasted images stored elsewhere on the web were not displayed though they were displayed in the editor. When I clicked on edit, there was no reference to the image at all. It was simply stripped away.There appears …

I'm not sure whether I'm going to continuously update the blog or not, but I thought I should also post this here where it will at least get some exposure :). Since my last posting, a number of the issues I was worried about have been resolved. Upgrade Template timeout

Every time I try to upgrade it gose well till about the templets I get as far as Template bits: 1200 to 1225 completed. 0 updated.. before it times out and says Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/XXX/public_html/testipb/sources/api/api_skins.php on line 371 my PHP exicution time is about 20 mins so I know its not that. is there a way to up the exicution time in the file?

Building XML skin files

The "import skin" option in the admin panel is very convenient. As I am a co-admin and do not actually have FTP access to the server the installation is on, it allows me to install new skins without having to upload files directly to the server. Now, the problem is that this also means I can't make any XML files. To create or change a skin (especially its image set), you need to fiddle around with it on the server you are running IPB on (essentially on the "live production" version). After that, it can be exported relatively easily. But there is practically no way to change or create skins without having direct access to a server IPB runs on. Is this intentional? If n…

All the user's attachments are available when making a post. It would be nice to have this attachment recovery functionality anywhere a file needs to be uploaded. For example, the avatar upload & personal photo upload. The user should not have to upload an attachment again if they uploaded it in a post already. Saves the user on attachment space & time.

I think the memberlist needs a toggle for users to switch between the old list view and the new more bulky version, i think the new one is ok but when i use the memberlist its usually to find someone or something and i like to be able to scroll my eyes down a list quickly. Not sure if its a acp feature to revert to the old one but i think it should be user controlled all the same.

Having custom content blocks is an excellent feature of the blog. However, would it be possible to give us the option of reordering all of the content blocks? As it is, my custom ones are stuck at the bottom, whereas less important ones take a more prominent position. Just a quick request if resources are available for this :).

In Beta 2, the "complete edit" and "cancel edit" buttons in the AJAX edit were switched. This is confusing and has almost led me to cancel my edit, losing what I wrote, twice. What exactly was the purpose of this change?
