IP set as loopback- not a bug, but just annoying

I've noticed that some members on my forum have set their IP (somehow) to loopback- so upon looking them up, I see my own server's address! Not sure if this is fixable, but any imporvements on this in 2.2 ?

A really good feature: If the user could subscribe to the forum and also to all topics, existent and new ones. This way the user will receive an e-mail for every post on a forum. This would be really good for my users...

Own Server

I have installed the board and the gallery on a server running from my own machine as a test forum for now, however I have come up against a problem. When I go to iupload a picture into the gallery I get a white page and nothing happens. I found out that it is the upload path so I changed it from ./uploads and uploads to c:/wamp/www/uploads and http://localhost/uploads still no good tried various combinations and still no joy. Can anyone help me please. Gerry

1. Announcements box. - Could you make an announcements box where it has an option if it is on or off. Here is a screen shot of what I want. 2. Reputation System - Where admins or moderators can add little pips under your title, showing if your a good trusted member or not. 3. Advanced portal. - Where you can create your own blocks and where they are positioned on the portal. 4. Easy skin editor. - Instead of telling you the table names, it should tell you where all the colors are. Example: Logo bar, text area, etc.

I was thinking, in the admin control panel, could there be an automatic update page, where, u can go to it, and automaticly update your board, without having to download, and overwrite the files, and have to upgrade? This could have great potential (w00t) :-"

Are we going to have the ability to add buttons like "Image", "Quote", etc... or is that only for "Quick Access" and "Insert Special Item". I'm sure that I could edit the rte template and add one manually, but I'm a bit concerned because they are wrapped with div's with something like id="ed-0_cmd_insertimage" and im wondering how I'm going to be able to add a button... I'm curious about this because there is going to be a function I'm making that really doesnt make sense under "Insert Special Item" because It doesnt insert something...

Currently our profiles ask for "Your MSN Messenger identity". As of a few months ago, the name MSN Messenger got changed to Windows Live Messenger, with the new version 8.0. Although a lot of people still call it MSN, perhaps it would be a good idea to change that to it's new branding? :)

Per user option: disable image resizing

I've tried to like the image resizing feature. And it's worked - at least to some extent. The feature works as intended, no longer breaks linked images, and I've even gotten used to the black bar above it. But would it be possible to give us the option to turn it off in our profiles? Using the feature doesn't reduce server load, so there's no reason for admins to want their users to have it enabled, and I still find the feature very annoying. Seeing a signature changed to 96% of its actual size and being forced to click on it in order to see it unobstructed is a waste of time. I understand that this is the cost for being able to avoid page-breaking images, but for some p…

Hi, If I attach an image to a post, and then click the image to get the full sized popup, the popup window is just a few pixels too small (scroll bars are enabled and the bottom few pixels), so that the whole image is not visible. I would like to see a welcome email being sent out to all users who have successfully registered (contents of the email being defined via the ACP). The same email would of course need to be sent out to members manually validated via the board admin(s) if admin/email validation is switched on. I feel this would be a good addition to the IPB software as officially being welcomed to a website/forum would look very professional to a new member or potential client. Another reason is that such a feature could be very handy for board admins who use admin/email validation because the email could be used for letting the user(s) know their account is now active and that they can…

I am trying to install with a brand new database and keep getting stuck in a loop. The install complestes successfully and I verify that tables are created but when it completes and I try to go the forum it says the installer is locked and to delete lock.php. When I do this it just wants to go through the install process all over again. I've done this several times each time wiping the database clean on the server end...any ideas???

As you know, whenever a new category is created a gap between each category is created. This puts me off creating catagories as I like to have all my forums together until you reach the board stats. I understand lots of people like the current look, but I think an option should be available for those who wish to switch to the vB look.

As the screenshot shows, the direct links to page 3 and 4 overlap onto the Replies column. When the browser window is made even more narrow the direct page links do wrap around. This problem does not occur in IE 6. Not sure if this is a problem with FF or IPB

I have a perpetual license currently althoe the support has expired about a year ago, Will I be able to download the latest 2.2 and all future upgrades with this expired perpetual license, or will I have to pay $25/6mo to recieve future uprades. When RC1 comes out I would like to upgrade my live board even though I am not supposed to. :whistle: I was just wondering if there was anyway if the IPS staff could tell me if a upgrade script would be released so we can upgrade from RC1 to the next version and then further on all the way to the final. I was really hoping for a final by November 5th but it looks like it wont happen.
