When you recieve a new comment, I was wondering if it could be setup so a message saying X New Comments appears to the right of X New Messages, and the message stays there until you check your profile. Maybe a mod idea? Or can this be done with some skinning tricks?

Hi, Just a suggestion for the friends section. You should be able to see who has you added as a friend, because it is quite hard to go and search their username to add them as a friend as well. Unless there is a page i am missing.

I have a idea for IPB next version its called a installer detector. why? alot of times i help with installing mods. i notice alot of peeps forget to remove installers. which could be unsafe. i think next version of IPB should have something that will scan for Installer still on your server.

Hi, I'm very intersted in purchasing Invision Power Board for use on my Brittany-Snow.com website. I am having difficulty getting support from the current developers of my board, because they are no longer taking in feature requests. Before purchasing, there is one feature I need to have, and am hoping that Invision Power Board does include it. Presently, PHPBB, what I'm currently using, only logs the IP address of posts, but does NOT log the IP address used for registering the account. Obviously, for legal reasons, since the person registering is the one agreeing to the terms of use (agreement), I must have this IP address logged, even more so than the actual IP for t…

Custom Profile Fields

When you add custom profile fields in IPB, regardless of Text Area or not, it still is displayed in the post. Is there an option to turn off the display of Text Areas in posts? Users have one text area to tell more about themselves, and the other one is for staff only to see why the last warning was issued. However, since both fields can get long, it stretches the post out more then I want it to. I know there is an option to turn off custom profile fields from appearing entire in posts, but I don't want to do that. I just want to be able to turn off the visibility of Text Areas in posts.

I need a very good bot protection for my iPB. There're some spam bots, which post somethinbg stupid stuff into my support forum. My customers are telling me about this and i'm nerved without end. The Bots must be stored out from iPB's - please do a function into the software, otherwise i must change the software ... thanks very much

This feature would beat any forum software in the world, like checking different forums, posts then > drop down menu > copyto? / Move to> a new folder Something what windows does it. May be accomplished using ajax, tht you can pick up a forum , posts, topics etc and dump them in a different category. Would be kinds cool :)

I understand that the reason for edit is a pretty good feature, but what I don't like is that it shows up in the post. I will do an example here, so you can see. Its unnecessary in my opinion to have it show up.

Hi, Is it or will it be possible in some of your further versions to set "avoid flood control" per user? Or other settings like that? I looked at the database and I wasn't able to find anything. Or do I have to make another usergroup for those few users (no moderators) for whom I want to disable the flood-control and make that their primary group? I only want to enable this for 1 or 2 users therefore a new usergroup wouldn't make any sense if there is another way to handle this. thanks

Imagine the following scenario: you clear the moderator log, but in between clicking Remove and the original page loading up, another moderation action is carried out. Thus, in clicking Remove, you will not be aware of the details of said moderation action, as the entire table is just indiscriminately cleared. This actually happened to me today and, due to various circumstances, became a problem. Spent a little while looking for this but couldn't find it but the option to allow users to delete attachments in my controls, is there a option to stop them from doing this cus i think this is a pretty big issue and i had to hard edit my files to stop it in the past so just wondering if theres not a setting for this then to add it :D.
