Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 19, 200618 yr I have a idea for IPB next version its called a installer detector.why? alot of times i help with installing mods. i notice alot of peeps forget to remove installers. which could be unsafe.i think next version of IPB should have something that will scan for Installer still on your server.
November 19, 200618 yr hmm, I think the anti-virus built in stuff would detect installers as dangerous software...Or maybe you don't deserve to be a webmaster at that point. ;)
November 20, 200618 yr How could you possibly go about writing code that would detect an installer???
November 20, 200618 yr Hmmz. a keyword in a installer maybe it can detect?like detect any file that says install or maybe anything that everyone uses to install mods with.
November 20, 200618 yr IPB detects if it's own installer is still present. There's no way we're manually going to try to detect if a modification's installer is still present. IPB does not support modifications (directly).
November 20, 200618 yr Maybe you should:Have the sense to delete the installer yourself-or-Ask the mod writer to make the installer delete itself
