I can't stand it anymore, i have to ask this. Can someone please explain me what the use is of the Warning System if it doesnt ban/suspend someone when they reach 100% ? Moderators have to REDUCE a member with 100% warnings back to 90% and then warn them AGAIN to suspend the user. It's RIDICILIOUS.

In the moment big boards like mine (www.germanscooterforum.de) lock completely up if some users do a search at the same time. Someone in the IPS Forum had a good idea in order to prevent this: By using a replicated slave Database only for searching purposes. Allow integrate a list of active topics (selected, popular, recent) to the web pages by adding a single line of cut-and-paste JavaScript code. Users can also specify how many lines and which fields would appear, and how the list should be sorted. This would be useful if the forum is very active and you want the visitors to know what are the current active topics.

I love that IPB has a rich feature set. However, I wish it was easier to turn certain features off. For my intranet-based implementation, I have no need for the built-in emailing system, and there doesn't seem to be any way to disable it. I'd like to be able to just get rid of it completely - all the members of my forum are on the same internal Novell GroupWise email system and I don't want them to start messaging one another through the forum. -William

Could you make an option to only show the birthdays from members of specified groups on the calendar/board index? I don't want members in my Banned usergroup to have their birthdays still showing, for example.

Hi all I'm having a problem with RSS article import from several sites, such as Craigslist (for example). Sometimes the RSS importer is incorrectly deciding certain items are "new" and creating new forum threads for them every single time the articles are updated. It strikes me that the workaround for this would be exceptionally simple. In the configuration of each RSS import feed, let the admin set a feed as either "append" or "replace" - and if the latter is chosen, then ALL RSS articles for that feed would be automatically removed before new articles are fetched. Hello, I would love to see a package installer same as the one in SMF. I am able to install any mod from admin panel with one click. they are even offering a packages server, i can log into it from admin panel, click on the mod name and its installed :thumbsup:

I would very much like to see a setting where you can choose not to show the 'Purchase Paid Subscriptions' link in My Controls. It feels so confusing to have it there if you don't use it. I know it's possible to skin out, but I think ACP option to not show it would be the right thing to have. Hope to see it added. :)

There used to be a topic called "my little Adsense mod...". I used details of the post to setup Adsense visibility for various usergroups, and it worked very well. Now that 2.2.X is out I need to revisit it, but it's gone. Are these missing posts in a hidden forum somewhere, or have they been deleted?

Greetings It would be great if IPB has an archive system. Admin can then set a date in ACP, before which all topics are made into static html pages, and then deleted from the databse, leaving only some kind of linkage to their new location. This would be a very helpful feature for big forums that suffer from bulky databases, keeping it always nice and slim. After all, who would want to reply to a 2 year old topic? and even if they do, it would look ugly when it suddenly shows up and takes over the top. The layout can be same as the lofiversion pages, but in static html, without using the database. I hope Matt considers making this feature in a future release.

I would suggest in the future an upgrade program that takes smaller steps. Having to use the command line for such small forums is frankly ridiculous. I just locked up my server in fact trying via the browser. My server admin said he never has problems with Vbulletin due to smaller upgrade steps they take in their upgrade script. Food for thought for IPB.

Some of my users have been complaining about the IPB smileys. They like some other smileys from some other forum software. Would it be possible to allow different smiley sets from which users could select the one they would like to use? Some people prefer the text smileys so that would be a nice option too.

First of all, the icon for putting an URL is not very clear... second, where's the code icon gone? What, I now have to click on 'insert: CODEBOX'?? Well I tried that, and it just converted it into the output, rather than displaying the code...!?? is there a bug with the codebox?

Hi with the new version the latest news shows the latest topic from the chosen category can we have an option to change back to how it was please eg the latest news changing when someone posts a new post in the chosen category.........I hope that makes sense
