[Suggestion] Take a snapshot of the sessions table

I'd like to be able to see what was so popular that caused a huge spike in traffic on my board. I think IPB should take a 'snapshot' of the sessions table, save it off in another table whenever the amount of users online breaks the 'most users ever online'. This way admins can view who was on and what they were viewing at the time the record was broke.

Why has this never been in Invision without having to use a mod? Surely it's common sense to add a few options like limiting the amount of images someone can put in there signature, the size of the image, links to other sites etc. I've been requesting this since 2.0 and it's never happened but I suppose its worth a go again.

Automatic Image Resize

What I'm trying to accomplish is that if any Member post a picture that is 640x480, it is left untouched. If the picture is bigger than this it will get resized and posted at 640x480. As for right now their is only the use of the percentage. There is no way to set it for a specific width/height. It resizes it based off what the person's resolution is. So for example, if you are using 1024x768, different images will be resized than someone using 1440x900. Some images will wind up smaller than acceptable for viewing and some will be even higher than the 640x480 causing the topic to scroll left all over the place. Would be really outstanding if a prefer resize size …

I think it'd be useful if you could set up "macros" for masks. If you enable these macros, an additional field is placed on the registration form. A user enters a "password" into this box, and if that password lines up with any of the macros, the masks associated with that macro would be automatically applied to the user without Admin intervention. To sum up: Enter a "password" into a box, see if there are any macros with that password, if there are, apply those masks (configurable in the Admin CP).

Hello :) I have for some time now had trouble getting in here, and into my client area, now those problems are resolved, but when I go into a customer forum here on the board, and I want to read a topic, I get the following message: Now, this can't be right, as I have spent, and still are spending alot of money on Invision PowerBoard Company. I have three board licenses, 1 blog, 1 gallery and one download manager.. I hope this issue can be taken care of as soon as possible. Thank you :)

1. I think this has been asked countless time. Why is REMOVING a mod has to be such a pain? 2. There is no way of turning on/off particular plug-in on the portal page. I don't need all of them at once. You can only disable a few but some can't be. Why some can be turned off and some can't be? Things like these should be built in. Now I have to find a possible hack just to turn off. thanks.

Now what I want is the ability for an admin to move someone into the "banned" group with one click, from the moderator window (or ban all people whose posting is disabled indefinately...) It's kind of a pain that every bot that I ban I have to go in, edit their profile, change their primary group. Should be an easier solution for admins (though mods should only be able to disable... maybe mark "request ban" where an admin can approve it?)

Since Jason and I have gotten a bit off topic in this post, I figured we should get its own topic rolling. Here is what I am looking for here. I am looking for features from ACP that you want your mods to have access to in a ModCP. Right now its mentioned, by me, to put a user manager in the ModCP. The root admin account would designate who could access the ModCP. Also you would not be able add/edit/remove members from ACP or ModCP access. This would be left to the root admin or admin respectivly. In another thread, it was mentioned about stats from ACP. If you have something you want added please post a reply and I will consolidate them into my post to make it easie…

I really have this problem with IPB, in purchasing another license and having to pay the full standard price, $149.99, just to run another board. This is a big issue for me because I have the license bought from last year, Perpectual, that is able to download all future upgrades of IPB board and 1 year support. I don't understand why I have to paid full now just to have the license to run one more board of mine for another community which I am going to start. This is not right on the client. I hope this message gets through to someone who can do something about this, if at all. Thanks for reading <_<

I looked back like 6 pages to see if this had already been posted but I couldn't find anything so...basically, before the switch over from IPS Beyond, there used to be an IP.Board Version profile field. This was very helpful to people who were trying to help out as they knew which version the person asking for help was using! This was removed when IPS Beyond merged into these forums and I personally think that it would be a good idea to add it again. Just summit that i've been thinking about lately as i make my final steps into the PHP5 relm as PHP4 is to be made obsolete very soon with support for it being discontinued i thought it might be worth having this open to discussion... Hi, I'm not sure if this has been brought up. Ok, when a topic is not approved (invisible) it will say there is 1 topic "Awaiting Moderation" when you login to the admin panel. I think it would be nice if you could click the "1" or what ever number and it would show you all the topics or posts invisible. That way you can access them easily. I just think it would be kind of handy.

Please add this feature, with the possibility to edit the locale via the ACP, using setlocale. At worst if the locale is not installed on the server, the date will remain in english.

Hi My forum v2.3.4 is showing ips sql error again n again. I restore that table from a backup and after some time it is deleted. Is it a software bug? has anyone had this problem?? if there is a malicious script running, how can it be checked. When i check in phpmyadmin or use deans mod to check sql atatus, it shows that table as crashed.

I have hunted and searched for answers to no avail. I'm just going to post the ticket conversation. Obviously I'm 1st............ then Tech Support.......... in sequence. I always question my ability. I'm a carpenter, not a web programmer or developer. I don't touch files or the database. If it doesn't work, either hit it with a hammer, or write a ticket! I, myself, do not have an IP Board, but I am a member of one. Last month, the moderators decided on a rule that said no colors in posts, except for emphasis and highlighting. However, some members still want to have colors in their whole posts. So I was wondering, Is there a way to have a "Color Filter" option so that some members may see colored posts, and others only see the default color?

DST Bug Fix & Security Enhancements Updated March 13th, 2008 - 11:29AM EST There has been a bug fix patch and security enhancement patch released for IPB 2.3.4. It requires simply uploading the files in the patch over your current ones. It does not require any upgrade script to be ran. You can download the patch on our Company Forums. It would be nice if some of the CPU settings in AdminCP instead of being toggled ON or OFF could be dynamic based on server load. The most obvious example is Allow users (where allowed) to use search?
