Well as we all know Ajax is a very tricky technology but it seems to be working better and better as a new internet browsers come out but i was wondering if it's Guaranteed that Ajax will work perfectly on e.g. IE5.. :rolleyes:

I would like to discuss IPD, basically where is it? When is it coming out? I'm currently looking for a decent CMS, as my current (WordPress) one is not fulfilling all of my needs. My first-choice so far is going to be ExpressionEngine as it is super flexible, lightweight, and cost-effective. How is IPD gonna compare? I'm a little worried that IPD is taking so long to develop :S Plus will IPD be as bloated as IPB is, because I really don't want a bloated CMS with silly features and over-the-top WYSIWIG editors and all that. Hello, I was wondering if IPS Boards offer a option "Built-In" to allow users to pick Paid Subscriptions. I know vBulletin has a Subscription service built in that allows you to pick what kind of payment is allowed, and how much each item costs. I had a board that had the option for users to pay a Subscription Fee in order to view certain forum areas, etc. I need to know if this function is built in before buying- also, im not looking for the Post or thread type of subscription, im looking for Paid Suscription. Why doesn't IPS have a pre sales forum? I know currently there's only the option of submitting a support ticket to get help with any pre IPB questions. This would help a lot because many people of the forum know many of these answerss already, and would be more than happy to help. Currently, I'm seeing a lot of these questions already being asked in the feedback forum, so why not include a pre-sales forum?

hey i wanted to ask if there is a certificate of approval that could i get for distribute 1.3 OR 2.0 for free? because i've been translate all the files, include admin,install etc.. so i just to know if there is certificate of approval for distributing :huh: even in paid or some other solution.

Hi :) I have a bug to report. 1. To see this bug use Internet Explorer, go to make new topic and choose Rich Text Editor. 2. Click in the field where you write the post (but don't write anything). 3. Click on "Insert Image". (If you get the "This website is using a scripted window to....bla bla"-warning first then you have to click in in the field where you post once more before you click "Insert Image" again) 4. Try to insert and adress now, it won't work. Other problems happen if you do the same thing before you use other functions. Hi, As a site admin not from US/UK, it is quite time consuming to manage the local language translastions on updates/upgrades. Yes, there are of course public translations to download, but they are honestly not always sufficient. So here goes my request: 1. Store all language sets an the content in the database. 2. Make a timestamp for all words and phrases, both in the English [master] and local languages. 3. I think, just to make it more professional, that IPB should make a valid HTML :wacko:. Even with one of the most basic tags (img) there is not alternate text. It would be great if 3.0 had 100% valid html ^_^ Not to be one to compare, but phpBB3 has valid html and IPB which is far better doesn't :o

I'm curious when IPB stopped asking before they started reverting settings and re-uploading files and changing themes in blogs for tech support requests. I submitted a ticket this evening and without request on my LIVE server I started seeing things change/re-uploaded and then they changed my CUSTOM blog theme that I hadn't saved the CSS for to a default theme without reverting it back afterwards. I spent four hours to give myself a custom theme that none of my members would have because I like to be unique and go to my blog to find it reverted to a default theme that I created for my members. I feel like I've just lost 4 hours of my life and have to spend another 4 h…

In 3.0 I was wondering if something similar to this could be implemented? I recall in 1.x there were 10 (1 block = 10%) blocks, and in 2.0 just 5 (each block = 20%), which makes sites who have a 33% per warn rate show akwardly. (33%, 1 block, 66% 4 blocks) :lol: This would allow all sites to have a more flexable warn and show it based on percent instead of on a scale of 0-5.

BB-Code is the biggest anti-innovation ever. All I've seen are problems and more problems with bb-code. WHY CANT WE JUST HAVE A WHITE-LIST OF HTML CODE? No need to convert, just check it before storing in DB. Simple. My suggestion: for IPB 3, get rid of BB-Code please. I'm getting problems like these all the time.

Hey, I went online to the resources site just a few minutes ago, searched for something and after looking through a few pages, went to click on a file and was taken back the the main home page (resources.invisionpower.com). I thought that it could have been just one file but there were over 10 links that this happened on. The only thing each has in common is that they are missing the showfile= property. There is no numerical value specified after each one. Maybe as if the URL's aren't being constructed properly for some reason. Here's a picture to help explain what I was seeing:

I have seen it on other forum softwares where you can have the rebuild option remove all posts and topics that aren't tied to the database (posts that aren't tied to a topic and topics that aren't tied to a post). This would be useful to add to IPB as my database has about 9,000 posts in it currently which aren't being used by any of the topics in my database and it's just wasting space against my database quota; and I'm not sorting through over 100,000 posts to find out which ones those might be.
