anyone notice this?? 1. default (IPB) skin: 2. skin 1 (daughter of default) 3. skin 2 Default (IPB) and the skin 1 seem to be working as expected with skin 1 being the daughter of default (IPB) skin. the second skin seems to be working AS the EDITOR ie, inherits everything from EITHER default OR skin 1 IN THE EDITOR BUT, when skin 2 is daughter of skin 1, the OUTPUT to the front is as if it's the daughter of the default skin ONLY. LIKEWISE, when skin 2 is daughter of default skin, it seems to output as if its the daughter of skin 1. Anyone else confused? coz i am LOL how does it work? how does it work if i just make skin 2 the parent skin?? where does …

Due to a large spammer activity on my forums lately who apparently managed to "hack" gmail's registration process, since they were all registered with gmail, using some random letters, we had to block new registrations using GMail account. I was wondering will there be a "ban" or "nuke" feature for moderators in IPB 3.0 Final, who would then have the ability to ban a member and delete all of his posts, without the need to have an access to Admin CP? If this discussion already exists, please just point me to it, as I couldn't find it. Thx

I realize I've been able to do this before but does anyone know how to change the number of Emoticons per line, through the ACP? This is in regards to IPB 2.3.6. I've searched throughout the entire ACP and I can't seem to find the setting. This is where when you post a message, the emoticon screen opens up. I want to change the number of emoticons per line in the emoticon posting screen sidepanel.

Bfarber, I think its unfair you make statements in the feedback section then close the topic so I can't respond. Your coworker responded at 3:55PM which is well within the time frame for trying to get some help for a customer. All this weekend, I have almost literally been tearing my hair out trying to debug a problem with an app I've been developing for IPB3. A debug statement in the top of index.php to var_dump($_GET) said that it was empty, but it turns out that it wasn't. That's an Apache/PHP bug/problem I think. It turns out that the root cause of my problem was that I hadn't got my code and folder structure quite correct, so that IPB couldn't find my application's executable code. Because of this, it was defaulting to the root URL for the board. I've done a quick search and can't see anything ... One of the things I want to encourage my admins to think about is using Performance Mode - my site usually runs very nicely, but occasionally we see huge spikes in demand, and to my eyes that would be the ideal time to turn it on. However, once it's on - unless you're looking for it (or the things that are missing) you don't know it's turned on. Would it be possible to include something (or even tell me how to skin that in), maybe on the Mod Tools top line to say that "Performance Mode is enabled"? That way it's obvious to us.

I'm seeing an increase in profile spam on IPB forums. I think there need to be a lot more solutions to combat that. A lot of times these people just register and don't make any posts, so the profiles go unnoticed with website links and signatures that are inappropriate. Maybe a minimum post count to set a signature and website link? at least it will get rid of the basic spammers. just thinking out loud

Will there be some sort of way to compare the template changes from the default skin in rc1 to future builds? Example, vBulletin has a xml in their install you can use to compare with updated releases and you can see all the changes. When I tried to export the skin in ipb, I was giving a gz (not editable?) so wasn't really sure what to do with it.

I tried it with the setting 'ON' - seems to make my forums slightly faster, why is this or am I misunderstanding it? Would make sense to be slower if it's grabbing resources off site.

I've got a question. My bad if it's in the wrong place but I can't seem to post in the IPS Resources Category yet. I have bought the Community Suite last Friday and a couple minutes ago I was able to open the activation e-mail of my client account. The question I got is whether I will be able to change the suite to a subdomain later on or will it be sort of locked on the particular url I install the suite on for the first time. Hello everybody! I'm since a couple days customer of Invision Power and I would like to know what's better: - Fresh install of the IPB 3.0 RC or - Install 2.3.6 and upgrade that one to 3.0 Don't know if it will be any difference since 2.3.6 has other mapping etc. Edit: I also got the Blog and Gallery, is it also possible to install those onto the 3.0 RC? Hopefully a Invision Veteran can advise me what's best :D Regards!

This is so bugging me now i am considering a move to VB! :o I have been using invision since the very first version and never have i had a problem installing until now. 1st i unpacked and uploaded everything in the folder as per normal, when i came to run the script i got No matter what i do, what permissions i change or how i upload it i always get one of the 2 above scenarios, i have tried both methods using 2 different downloads from here just in case my 1st download was corrupt in some way?
