Lee Craven
I tried it with the setting 'ON' - seems to make my forums slightly faster, why is this or am I misunderstanding it? Would make sense to be slower if it's grabbing resources off site.
Connor T
As I understand it you can only request x amount of things from one website. So when it comes to a forum board when you need to load like 50 things, the browser takes it in turns. If you load anything from a 3rd party site it can do it as the other things are loading while the page is loading.

bfarber
Besides that, Google's servers are probably a tad faster than yours. ;) But yes, parallel downloading is the primary reason to use a CDN to load content like prototype/scriptaculous.
