Much like merging 2 topics, would it be possible to merge 2 conversatoins? For example, in convo 1, the user sent me their DB details, and in a 2nd convo sent me their ACP details. Is there a way to merge or combine convos?

I have looked for a way to reorder the navigation tabs (green tabs at the top) and although I have found several threads concerning this, none of them have a really 'good' way of reordering the tabs without editing the template or using a paid for mod. I have attempted to use the edit template solution and keep getting errors. I find is frustrating that something simple as putting the Portal tab in the first position or getting the Home tab in the first position. There has to be a better way, maybe I am missing something because I am new at IPB if so please point me in the right direction. For some technical forums, syntax highlighting is a key feature. Recently, I find GeSHi is a great product, and have used it in my wikis. I hope it will be integrated in IP.Board 3.1, or act as an extension. BTW, My english is very poor. I hope you have understand what's my meaning.

I would like to have a permissions-level in each forum that allows for the enabling of guest voting in polls but not the ability for guests to comment/reply to the polling topic. I do need to create the ability for a forum to have guest voting privileges but I can see my future spam headache already. Is there a way you can set this up in a future release? Or is there already away to set this up?

Currently when you set a post limit for a user to be able to see a forum, the forum disappears from the board index. I think it would be better if when there is a post limit, the user is still able to see the forum on the board index but when they click on it they get an error stating that they must have x # of posts to view the forum. It would also be important to make the last post info "Private". One reason we want it to work this way, is because we have a "Buy/Sell" forum only available to users with 50 posts... but those under don't even see the forum. If they could, it would encourage them to post more to work their way up to 50 to gain the privilege to access tha…

Your support team is always there for technical assistance. It is awesome that we can rely upon you and your team for timely expert support through your regular ticket system. Question - Does IP offer a paid project support service? It wouldn't necessarily be for modifications but for assisting with the coordination of various product features and fine tuning stylesheets etc. For example, the creation and layout of IP.Content databases, integration to homepage (and stylesheet formatting), bringing in regular PHP under the Raw PHP format etc. Things that aren't corrective measures but assisting in the development of a site under the IP.Content umbrella. Just wanted to say thanks to the IPB crew for helping me through my upgrade. The new version has been very well received by my community. Of course there were some growing pains while figuring out which features were beneficial and which were just in the way. I know this has been talked about before but IE6 will not be fully supported in IPB 3.x. As of today IPB 3.x renders unusable in many circumstances on IE6 however Charles and other IPB Staff indicate that it will be supported better (but not fully) in the final release. My question is this. Will it be possible to utilize all the new IPB 3.x features without IE6 native support? Would it require a complex (and costly) 3rd party skin to obtain this and if so would this lead to compatibility and other problems with future upgrades? What are people's thoughts? Along the same lines as we have a warn box in the ACP's home page for the installer being present, I think adding a warning if conf_global is found to be writeable would be a good idea too. :) I don't think there is a need to duplicate all warnings from the Security Center into the home page but: As this file is typically going to have its permissions altered for an upgrade, a warning box in the ACP home page would be good to prevent any chance of it being left in that state. I guess this will probably only work on a 'nix box though anyway. :)

Could you create a setting group for Redirection Pages that allow each individual user to set whether or not they want redirection pages set. Where there are individual options for New Topic, Topic Reply, Updated Information, etc... :D

This is something that's been bugging me for a while. Essentially the three options you have is: 1) View first post (clicking on topic title) 2) Get last post (clicking the date in last post) 3) Get first un-read post (if you click the orange icon that only shows up if a topic is un-read) To me this isn't very intuitive... Not only that, but the third doesn't seem to always work.. It would be nice to be able to have a "1-time only" subscription. This would allow for trial-type memberships that can only be purchased once per account. If this functionality is already available, I seem to have missed it.

Hi all, I am getting a complaint from users that small images are being scaled up to 800 pixels wide. Is there any way to prevent this, while still causing oversized images to be scaled down? *EDIT* It only happens to uploaded images, not external links.

Alright I guess I'm going to have to post this in the feedback forum here. Basically in IPB 3.0 there is a function you can add to your modules called "changePass". In han_login.php this is referenced as "new_pass", and no where does it mention it being md5'd. But if you do a search on every instance of "changePass" being called from han_login (usercpForums.php, details.php, lostpass.php, register.php, editform.php) they all md5 the password before passing it into this function. The problem with this is you're assuming that the password is md5'd once before making any modifications. The authenticate function does NOT make this assumption, and is therefore inconsistent…

Is IPB 3 going to support tagging. We're about to start a huge website overhaul of our corporate website and an important part is related data to the forums (and potentially IP.Blogs). If IPB isn't going to offer it at the next version then it may lead us to migrating elsewhere.
