Hello, i'm Marcos Carvalho. Well, i have a suggestion for the IP.Board. Do you know when we warn a member? Anyway, my suggestion is to add an $_GET in the topic in all of the posts, so when the moderator go to warn the member the number of the post will be attached, and in the warn system have automatically add the contact of the warn to personal messenger with the data, like: "Hello, the moderator (name of moderator) have warn you because : "link of the post". Per attention." Sorry for my english, i'm brazilian ;( Anyways, thanks for the patience. Marcos Carvalho - marcoscbk@msn.com

For those of us who are colour blind the skin differences report is next to useless. I am unable to tell the difference between the two colours used to show missing/changed code. Is it possible to get the colours changed or is there a way for us to do that now? TIA.

In the ACP Member management area, there should be an indication somewhere showing that a member has added a facebook/twitter/whatever account to their forum account. This will make it incredibly easier to troubleshoot external issues (such as members accidentally creating duplicate accounts when they use the facebook interface) as well as to identify who is actually using it and be able to know what is what. The biggest part of this though is being able to see that yes, User A has already connected their account to a facebook account, before I attempt to merge (or delete) what appears to be an accidental duplicate account.

Spoke with Matt about this previously, but it would be superb, in the dashboard/stats report center/whatever it is called, to be able to see, graphically, what the utilization of the various login methods are (X # of members are using facebook, twitter, forum, openid, etc) with the ability to not show/calculate the ones that are not enabled, as well as show the utilization of same methods for the past X # of days (facebook was used by members to login X% over previous 7/30 days, forum direct login was used X% over previous 7/30 days, etc). This will help to identify which services are actually being used so admins can act accordingly (and/or perhaps to keep an eye on if s…

I would love to be able to leave a small comment while giving reputation. Most of our posts are long ones and varied. It is then hard for the writer to know what exactly the reputation was given for. This would easily be solved with the ability to comment your reputation. If any mod-creators are interested in making a few bucks, Please contact me...

[edit] Nevermind, crafty hackers could still exploit PHP to get around my suggestions, rather pointless now >_<

Welcome. I've enabled the negative reputation feature in order to allow my users to moderate forums themselves. The problem is that I can't find an option to force hiding posts with a certain negative reputation level. I know there's a filter for users, but can it be done automatically through an option?

Great upgrade. Fixed 3 bugs that were killing us, skins, apps and hooks stayed intact for the most part. Thanks!

The mobile skin should have a box to type a status update. It would be perfect, my users could just type into their phones about what they're doing.

I am trying to test my IPChat and I have set it up so only my staffers can access it. And while that seems to have worked, nobody except me can type anything and have it show up in the chat window. Am I missing something here?

It would be great if there was an option to strip the whitespace in the HTML output. It would further help to optimise load times. What do you think?

As I started entering “Instant/Disposable Email Addresses” in the Ban Control email address filtering interface, I discovered that its use is kind of awkward. In order to enter 100 spam email addresses it will take a very long time, as this is done by hand, one by one. My suggestion would be to allow a .txt file upload of email accounts as well as IP addresses, in addition to the existing drop down box. Also it would be beneficial for validation to occur in the IP address field. As it stands right now you are able to enter any value and it will be accepted.

I think closed topics should not show up in the recently added topics... If they're recently added and closed because of rule infringement then it'd be a waste of space having it there. I do understand that there could be situations in which a topic that is closed should show up in the recently added topics (not on our forum, but still), so maybe an option would be nice?

I like the idea of IPS accepting donations for a charity, even though part of the reason was to be able to test and debugger the upcoming IP.Nexus. So what about a monthly charity drive? Charity goes up with a very modest goal (embarrassingly modest, like $100) and stays up for a month. That way, it's easy to reach the goal, people don't feel like they 'have' to help reach the goal, so people can give to those that they want to give to and can help out different charities on an ongoing basis? Mind you, exceeding $100 on each charity would be nice and the more the better, but the idea would be to keep it low enough to reach easily without people dreading the next one…

A little annoying (since it doesn't seem to fit the overall theme of IPS, colorwise), but other than that, I think it's a really nice touch. Now it's easy to tell who has helped to build/expand the products and also in the use of the products. Good move IPS.

While playing around with the badword filter, I realized that the badword filter completely replaces the word in the post(losing the original word that was in there to begin with), is there a reason as to why this is? Or am I simply overlooking the feature? Other forum software that I've used only swapped out the badword if it was turned on for that member, so the original words were still retained.

The board emails look like they come from the 90's. Most emails from modern sites have both a styled HTML version and the plain text version in the same email. Most people these days use email clients that can show HTML. Anyway, the email templates should be moved into the skin templating system (with templates for the HTML version and other templates for the plain text version). These should also use the language packs for multi-lingual boards.

Is there a setting to not show what a member is currently viewing in their profile? Is there a way to disable the list of "Latest visitors" that appears in a profile? I know at least some of this can be set in the user's profile settings, but they're hard to find and the user shouldn't have to look around for it. It's the same problem Facebook has with privacy, where you have to find obscure settings and no one knows exactly how it works.

I will update this thread as time goes on, but my premise is simple. IPB 3.x has much higher loads than 2.3.x. Here is yesterdays loads. Can you tell when the new forums went live with new traffic/loading? For comparison I am putting the previous weeks (same day) loads. I am not griping on slow queries (don't see any) but due to all the ajax (or whatever) there is some serious CPU burden on my server.

Hi guys, I would just like to say a big thanks to everyone on this forum who have helped kick start my community, we experienced something that would normally have meant the end of any community, basically I had been running my community forums through IPBFREE.COM for 2 years without any probles, I knew the ACP inside out and I could make any changes I felt the community needed with my eyes closed, that was until last Monday when I tried logging on I found my community aswell as everyone elses community using IPBFREE.COM had vanished, wiped, finished, everything was gone, topics, posts and Profiles. Luckily enough I was able to quickly organise a recovery through my…

I don't see the point in having both a title and a description and would like to disable the descriptions. Could this be added?

Been trying to find a post that is anything to do with this, but can't find any. I'd like to know if there is a feature that allows this to be done. If not, do I need to install a modification to enable this feature.

This is something I could do with having for the latest IP.Board customer installation we're carrying out. The current website shows a list of the latest changed topics for the current forum (phpBB). We're converting them to IP.Board and a newer website and so are looking to repeat this functionality. So let's say the following topics were the 'latest' topics entered, the list would look like: - Topic 1 - Topic 2 - Topic 3 - Topic 4 If someone then posted to Topic 3, the list would then be: - Topic 3 - Topic 1 - Topic 2 - Topic 4 The point is to just display the topic name itself with a link to the topic, nothing more, nothing less. It's a way for people t…
