Custom markers would be a central feature for our site. Would be awesome if that was available again.

Another example is October 19 company blog announcement about a mobile skin coming soon, and to be tested on this forum in just a couple of days. We are over three months in waiting.

You're setting your clients up for disappointment by leaving impressions that some things will happen soon and they don't and there is no communication, or very little, going forward.

Some of us have been looking for an alternative skin so we can incorporate banner ads in the header (something we were vocal about from the first sneak preview of IP3, somewhere in what Dec 08?). When the skin contest happened last summer, the CleanCut skin was the obvious solution. Quite excited that a major fault of the design for some of us was going to be fixed. 6 or 7 months later it still isn't officially out?

I understand you don't want to put dates on future feature rollouts, but my biggest gripe is the false impression created about features that are implied or stated as coming soon. 6 or 7 months is not coming soon. Better communication on timing would be appreciated.

ehren, if it the mobile skin works on this forum it should work on everyone's 3.0.5. Why are we waiting?

Brandon, it would take all of 14 seconds for an IPS rep to update the blog section of the skin. That, I believe, is what is getting most people riled. I copied an pasted the default template to make it work. I'm sure someone on the official skin can do the same.

Given most issues are upgrade problems and possibly mods I suppose the logical step would be stop upgrading or making any changes and thus not renewing.

Is it psoible to get something added that will show where you got reputation and who gave it to you in your my setings or profile view?

I wish someone would light a fire and release this. This is getting to be annoying to say the least. We're working with critical bugs that are fixed here but we need them fixed too. Plus members are leaving over this view new content issue. (Note just the view new posts but the entire format - topic starter - views etc). Either release 3.0.1 or tell us the code so we can put it on our boards.

I've been talking about this since the first day of IP3 previews in 2008. My hunch is now supported by feedback from my membership.

View New Content is a step down from View New Posts. Not sure what prompted it but it makes no sense. People want to follow their own threads through that feature. Was it that difficult to keep their own read posts in it? I'm trying to understand the logic for making that change.

Both of the above also need reference to the original posters in threads.

Without reverting back to those features it doesn't matter how much better the rest of the board is. They immediately detract from what should be a huge leap forward.

Oh come on, the majority. That's nonsense. This change is more about coder ego and has nothing to do with what a majority thinks.

I'm also looking for the return of the original poster. Is that part of the offer too?

I have had one positive comment about the new board. The rest have been nothing but complaints about view new content. I can assure you, if there had not been a change to VNP I would have members doing cartwheels and raving about the board.

This silly change has ruined a good forum. Needlessly, and no one seems to give a crap.

Long before IP3 was introduced I surveyed my members on surfing habits. 56% used view new posts as there sole method for using the board. All the hard work of the development team is overshadowed by this issue. Very misguided change. Both unfortunate and unnecessary.
