stu_m reacted to OptimusBain in Upgrade To Cloud Information
I agree that IPS wants to advertise its Cloud service. But what about those that use self-hosted communities like me? I don't want to see that link up there because I know I want to use a self-hosted system. I would love an option to hide it because now I cannot use the global search field on my mobile, not even using my mobile's desktop mode. Why? Because the "Upgrade to cloud" link is using up the space where the SEARCH should be 😞

I can now confirm that turning off zlib has indeed allowed me to revert back to PHP8
Not sure why it didn't work the first time

If you are running a on cpanel then this update only came out on the 23rd and will have been automatically done in the background.
The update is to easyapache and part of the cpanel updates

This is correct, and will also only affect PHP 8, as it's the update to 8.0.17 that is causing the issues. We're trying to work around it at present
The only thing I can really say there is we would need to see it in that state to advise. My suspicion is that zlib hasnt been properly disabled to be honest. Its too coincidental that it's the same symptoms at exactly the same time as everyone else

I will check when I get home although I suspect someone else may beat me to it.

I have had the same issue and its due to a PHP update I believe
I was on version 8.0.17 when I checked today due to an upgrade last night and since then my website has been down
I have just changed back to PHP7.4 and all is well again

I check this...
WOW!!!
It works!!! I changed back to PHP7.4 and it works again!!
That's incomprehensible!
Thanks a lot for this idea!!

But the answer might be useful to other users, right? 😉 The settings have not changed, they are the same.
If you do not like when someone digs up the topic, close such topics.

Just tried this on my forum
With the ability to edit at source/html you can change quote to CNN or whatever you want

Why would you want to tag the author of the quote?

Turning on the "Trust IP Addresses provided by proxies" would enable it to show the real users IP address. So it is the answer to obtaining the real user's IP address.

The CleanTalk anti spam plugin in the marketplace is 8 bucks a year, but has been very good at helping prevent spam registrations AND contact us spam messages.
It’s not perfect but has reduced spam by around 90% for my community.

If your running CSF firewall then you can enable the stopforumspam IPs in
/etc/csf/csf.blocklists by removing (un commenting) the # behind the last line of each block

We use cloudflare on our site and IPS does show the IP of your users.

What do you think about creating an option to add prefixes in front of the topic name in different colors? to choose from in some sections of the forum? something like in the attachment. I think this is a very useful feature and needed.

This issue is in our tracker. It's quite complex based on the editor we use, but we are aware of it.

Does anyone else have an issue where if you quote someone using a mobile device then try and delete the quote its pretty much impossible to delete it from the editor?
I can delete the text within the quote but not the quote box!
This is happening in Chrome and on my forum as well as this one

Edit the template "popupContent" in communitymap > front > map. Remove all occurrences of the following
target='_blank' That should do it for you 🙂
Do the same in the other *Popup templates in the same folder to change the behavior in other marker types.
