IPS has said that Pages will be getting some love in the 5.x line. So it will be interesting to see what is cooking!

Yes indeed, I really can't wait.

I too really like the look of the blog here on this site. I have been trying to do something similar. Using @opentype's SuperGrid template and some light CSS tweaks, here's the result: https://www.logicprohelp.com/articles/

    Yep, same issue again...

Oh great, I forgot about that one! Thanks for bringing it up. You're correct that one was the same issue.

So the same solution you had offered back then (to go directly to the edit page by appending ?do=editComment&comment=###### to the URL of the thread) worked again this time.

    All fixed. Thank you!

PS: I didn't see a video embed URL in the HTML source code, so I couldn't retrieve the video link. My guess is, something went wrong with some of the videos during the conversion from phpBB to IPS.

Didn't you have this before a while back?

I had a broken page before but the issue wasn't the same, in fact it was the content of a user signature, so I was able to delete that user signature without having to edit the post.

    • right click the ... menu (that would normally display the edit button) and select 'Open in new tab" (or window)
    • You get the same page, with the menu now available.

Unfortunately I do get the same page - but the menu is still unavailable.

It might also be worth deactivating the ads to rule them out. It’s very invasive ad content on these pages.

I just tried to disable all ads, the issue is the same.

The reality is, there isn't actually anything that doesn't work here. Its simply the browser doesnt support the format.

Yes, I understand that, however a solution can (and hopefully will) be implemented. For example if I upload the same video in Facebook, Facebook automatically converts the video so that it plays back in any browser. Users are used to this, and our Mac-based members don't understand why they can upload a video in a Facebook group but can't upload that same video in our Invision Community.

My understanding is that that is something that Invision already does for the Gallery, so hopefully that feature will be added to the forum as well in the not-too-distant future. I remember discussing this with Charles during a Live Topic last year.

That isnt something we would do. While I understand it may work for you in the browser, it doesn't make it correct. mov and mp4 are 2 different formats

Ok, I understand, then I suppose there would need to be an actual file conversion going on for this to work properly.

  6. More server errors again today (just a few minutes ago). Again, geographically widespread, and both on my site and this site.

The downtime is tracked by uptrends.com and downforeveryoneorjustme.com but not tracked by status.invisioncommunity.com

    Could contain: Page, Text, File

Could contain: Page, Text, File, Business Card, Paper

    Could contain: File, Webpage

    Could contain: Text

I think Gallery on cloud installation should take care of MOV and other formats.

Yes but it doesn't work automatically when a user attaches a video to a post in the forum. Also available only starting with the $229/month "Team" plan.

Thats a question you would need to ask of google. The issue is not one of the software, but rather the browser

I agree - although I suppose that it would be nice if there was an option in the Invision Community to automatically convert .mov file extensions to .mp4 so  that unknowledgeable members could have a seamless experience. 🙂

We are experiencing a significant DDoS attack (4.5 million requests) which we are taking steps to mitigate.

Thanks Matt. Doesn't AWS protect against DDoS attacks? https://aws.amazon.com/shield/

Any significant changes will be added here: https://status.invisioncommunity.com

I don't understand why, like for the downtime on December 23rd, while under "History & Incidents", the downtime for invisioncommunity.com was tracked, the downtime for the U.S. Cloud service (which I'm using) is not tracked, so that it says the uptime is 100% when it is not - far from it.
