  1. It works well for us and is very useful
  2. Before we upgraded to the latest version of Invision, clicking on the topic title took you to the first post. That's the way it works here on this Invision forum. However, since the upgrade – or at least certainly since the last update, clicking on the topic title the last post. Is there some setting somewhere? Or do we simply have a glitch? Thanks
  3. Well it works for us – but you had probably better wait for the developer because I don't have any technical knowledge at all
  4. It does on our site https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/46-general-consumer-issues/
  5. As I understand it a Cuebanner is that bit of grey text which sits in a text box that maybe gives information or instruction and which disappears as soon as you click on it and start to type. You can see in the above right-hand corner of this Invision forum – the search box with the word Search… written in it. As soon as you start to type the word disappears. It will be really nice to have a plug-in or application which could produce these. I'd like a Cuebanner to appear in the "title required" box of a new topic form and in the message area. Also in new user registration forms, for instance to remind people not to use their real name I'm sure there are lots of other places where a cue banner would be very useful How about it?
  6. While I'm glad you're feeling so positive about it Joel. For our part, the get-up and the advertisements are minimum basic requirements. I think we will withdraw from the beta program for the moment until these points are addressed. Thanks
  7. Hi, I finally found my way to the correct thread. Is there some custom CSS which will allow me to change the background of the topic titles please? I would just like to make them more easy to distinguish from the rest of the topics. Thanks
  8. Yes, sorry that's the one. I think they be talking to the wrong developer! Anyway very impressive turnaround – I'm sorry it's not you. ---------------------------- edit: Hang on – it is you. You had a name change Okay so, my fault – is there any way to change the background colour please?
  9. Actually – I wonder if we aren't talking about different things. I actually do mean pinned topics:
  10. Thanks. I'm afraid it doesn't seem to be having any effect. I notice that the other couple of custom CSS statements begin with a #but yours begins with a . Is that significant?
  11. Yes – pinned posts, sorry. Where would I put that little CSS statement? Thanks for the very rapid response, by the way
  12. Hi, is there any way to change the background colours of the pinned topics? I have a feeling that this was possible or an old version. Thanks
  13. Of course, remembering ID numbers is not the way that it's done – and I'm sure you know that. And I'm afraid this probably sums up the problem that everything seems to be done on the basis of your perspective or whether your chief architect believes that it is useful to your clients. This is not at all customer-facing. I hope no one has suggested that you did say this – I certainly haven't noticed– and I certainly appreciate the CEO of Invision getting involved in this discussion. I can't imagine that this is anybody's perception and I'm not sure that it has at all been suggested here that you are simply out to alienate people. However, I think that to a great extent the forum software is managed according to your own perception of what people need and what people should have – and as I have already said, this is not a customer-facing approach. I have a sense that Invision is a sort of benevolent dictatorship – which is okay, but it doesn't always get things right. Anyway, for my part, somebody has modified the previous plug-in so that we now have post numbers on our new version of Invision so from now on it's merely an academic discussion.
  14. We've just been approved for the mobile app so I've installed it on a couple of devices and tried it very briefly. The first thing that surprises me is that it doesn't carry any of our get-up - our colours, our logos, anything. In fact if anything it is simply in Invision colours but nothing that would lead someone to understand that they were on our particular forum. The second thing that surprises me is that none of our AdSense advertisements seem to appear. Is this by design? I read somewhere that in some way carrying our ads on this kind of app might be a Google violation – and if it is and I'm afraid that we won't be using the app and we won't encourage people to use either. And finally, I'm very surprised that for instance it doesn't give an opportunity to configure an automatic signature so that when one starts a topic or replies to a topic it doesn't automatically signoff something like "from my phone". Of course I'm using an early adopter version. Maybe there is more work to be done. As I say, I tried it very quickly – maybe for only two or three minutes these are my initial impressions. On the plus side, it installs quickly, signs in quickly and seems to be pretty fast.
  15. Wonderful. Thank you very much indeed. It seems to work perfectly.
  16. Well give us a plug-in then – I'm sure others will be happy to buy it from you as well
  17. That still doesn't explain why we shouldn't have the choice
