  1. I'm afraid there seems to be a real support issue here. For my part, we have been stuck on older version of keyword tooltips for several months now and asking for support – and we basically had no reply at all – and it seems that there are other people who are suffering in the same way. Has the keyword tooltips app been abandoned please?
  2. Thanks. I was starting to feel that that might be the case. Is there any way that I can do a bulk delete of tags. It's a real shame that there isn't a checkbox system so that you can simply select the ones you want to delete and then get rid of them all with one click. That doesn't seem to be possible at the moment I think that our huge collection of tags is a hangover from vBulletin It will also be very nice to be able to bulk select certain tags as "suggestions" without having to enter them all manually
  3. Well I've started looking at the tag functionality on our website. I'm very new to this and I'm struggling to find my way around. One thing though – is that I found a list of tags – about 1100 pages of them including words like and, the, from, before, in – you get the picture. Isn't there some way of excluding all of these kinds of word? Thanks
  4. Thanks. I've just checked and found that the error still persists even when I revert to the default theme. Actually we are using the default theme anyway – just with some colour changes. The error is not occurring on our test site – but then your application is not correctly installed there because it is still returning all the error messages which you saw yesterday on the live site. Also I could do with a very simple lesson on how to produce coloured prefix icons on every post which is imported into our forum using the Invision RSS function. It worked well with ATP – but now it has stopped working completely and I don't understand how to configure your application – or whether it is even possible
  5. Also, I'm afraid that we have just noticed this error Which disappears when the radical tags application is disabled. I'm grateful for the rapid support yesterday – but I have to say this is a bit heavy going.
  6. Sorry, but now that I've installed radical tags I'm afraid that I need some serious help because I just don't understand how to get it going with our prefixes. It's obviously a good application because a lot of people here are raving about it – but I'm afraid that I'm lost. My main concern at the moment is that our RSS imports which have a prefix - rss: set, are working in some cases – but not in others. If you go to this page https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/151-general-consumer-issues-in-the-media/ you will see that some of them are correctly configured in colour – little RSS icons – but the majority of them are unaffected and are simply text. I had expected that radical tags would identify them and convert them all into an icon. Even the ones that have been successfully changed, having been changed into the shape that I wanted which was a rounded shape rather than a square shape. Also, I'd especially like to be able to use an image of an RSS icon – but maybe that's impossible. Anyway, I'm sorry but I need some serious help on how to use this thing. I then like to go on to understand how the tags work
  7. Thanks very much for fixing this so quickly. Great support. The problem still exists on our test site. Is there anything I can do? or would you need to go in there? Thanks
  8. In fact it seems to be a serious conflict between the two applications and I can't have them both activated at the same time or else the forum crashes
  9. Yes - but I disabled it and still had the same result. PM is with you
  10. Hi, I've just downloaded and installed radical tags and have now got this error when I go to "tags" of – manage tags
  11. Well thanks for this answer. – Especially the information about the re-cycling of the feeds. As for the rest of the post which I made, maybe they could be considered as feature suggestions for a forthcoming version. Maybe one of the independent developers might like to consider a pin/unpin application which would be very handy.
  12. I'm sorry to say that the feed reader function that comes with Invision is extremely basic. It's almost as if it was thrown in as an afterthought. I suppose that to an extent I'm influenced/spoilt by vBulletin which we moved from about a year ago. However, vBulletin comes standard with quite a sophisticated feed reader. You can set up a feed with multiple filters on it to include or to reject an item because of the inclusion or exclusion of various words or phrases. You can decide how much of an extract of a particular source article you want to import. You can designate an image/icon instead of merely a text prefix you can also tell the feed that if X X X is satisfied then route to X X X sub- forum or if ZZZ is satisfied then route to ZZZ sub- forum. You can also tell it to pin the post for a certain amount of time and then to unpin it. You could also tell the feed how often to refresh itself. I'm certainly a bit surprised about the inability to pin the thread and then to unpin it because pinning a new topic is offered as part of the new topic function on the invision forum and setting a lock/unlock time is also a standard part of the forum facility – so it seemed to me to be a bit strange that the RSS feed reader function doesn't take advantage of this. Also, and it doesn't seem possible to give a specific name to a thread. It has to take its name from the source. I know that RSS has rather fallen out of fashion – but it's an extremely useful way of keeping various parts of your forum up to date with relevant events – without any work or input from the site team. In fact with properly set up RSS feeds, you could go away on holiday for two or three weeks and the forum would robotically keep on bringing new feeds and distributing them round the site so that visitors would scarcely notice that nobody was in attendance. Not only that, there are external services which are making a reasonable amount of money helping you create feeds and applying filters – but all of this could be done within Invision without too much difficulty, I imagine.
  13. I'm talking about importing feeds from external sources.
  14. As far as I can see the documentation, there is no indication as to how often the RSS feed is refreshed. Anyone have any idea on this please? Also, I suggested this before – it will be very nice to be able to filter the RSS feed out to various sub- forums depending on words or phrases – either included or excluded/white listed or blacklisted. But for the moment, any idea from anyone how often this feed is refreshed? I'm a bit surprised that one can't configure this
  15. Hmmmm .... thar' be dragons .... ! Thanks for the responses - but I think that I'll leave it
  16. Also, when you check "all" on a page and then go to the next page to check "all" again, the check marks from the first page will disappear. This means that you have to go through the whole process of clicking "all", then going to the delete procedure and then onto the next page and begin it all again – 797 times in our particular case! I'm amazed that all the old deleted vBulletin data is still there even from 2006.
  17. I've had a look – and yes I understand what you have suggested – and in fact I knew that – but the problem is that there are over 700 pages and that means that you have to do do each page individually checking the "all" box at the top for every page. I'm trying to find out if there is a way of doing the whole lot at one go.
  18. We converted from vBulletin last year. I suddenly discovered that we got over 17,000 posts all stacked up in the approval queue dating around 2007 onwards. Anybody got any idea how I can bulk delete these please. Thanks
  19. Hi, I posted here quite a few months ago for some support with the keyword tooltips application. It's still not resolved. We really desperate for some support. We are on version 2 point something but I want to upgrade to your latest version. I tried it on our test site and although it seems to install correctly, and you can still access the keyword database, the keyword don't work. The existing ones don't work. If you create new ones then they work – but it doesn't seem to be able to refer to the existing database although when you check, all the keywords and their definitions are still in place. We have hundreds of keywords and so we couldn't possibly write them all for the new version. I'm sure your upgrade is meant to be seamless and to use the existing database. I'd be really grateful if you could help us on this please. I'm especially worried because soon Invision will be upgrading to 4.5 and unless I can be sure that the keyword application works, new version, we won't be able to upgrade and that shows you how important your application is for us.
  20. Thanks, yes you're right they are in the quiz information area – but it would be nice if one could see the views in the category/subcategory view as well. The crowdfunding images look great. If the idea found its way into your quiz application, it will be very nice. Thanks
  21. Hi again. The statistics give the number of people who played the quiz – but it would be nice to know how many people have visited and viewed. That would then help to give an idea of how many people have decided not to play after subtracting the number of players. Also, is there anyway to get an image onto each of these panels? Thanks
  22. Thanks all of this –. On the issue of having to choose which kind of question – my fault, I had assumed that it was either/or and I didn't actually try it out! Sorry.
