ekforum got a reaction from TDBF in Trying to find plugin 'Website Footer by Catzwolf'
Oh awesome, absolute legend @TDBF, many thanks for sharing that!
Oh it is a tar file not an xml? The previous one was an xml plugin.

With this v2, can I migrate the data from the previous plugin to this application somehow just by installing this app?
  2. Thanks

    Website Footer v2 2.0.2.tar
Sorry, I had to close down the site due to issues with the software which I was using. Sadly, I cannot use my own forum for downloads.
  3. Thanks

I did a little research, I guess you mean the plugin by @TDBF
There is also a version 2.0, but the DL site is down too ...

Looking at their profile it says: Last visited February 3, 2003, so I doubt that they are the author of that plugin.
Where did you download it from?

    You could try https://www.invisioneer.org/marketplace/
If it isn't out there, it looks bad.
In that case I would recommend to switch to a plugin that is still supported.

I have moved this to our Feedback forum for further consideration by our team.

Correct, this only affects guests / visitors which aren't logged in.

Just happened again for me, had to fill out 2 captchas in a row when clicking a link on my forum and opening up in a separate tab, around 14:41. Shouldn't it track cookies/IP address and not do that? Especially as I was also logged in as Admin at the time. It is in a general browser not a private one.

Sure, would be good if mainly people didn't see. But when people do see, I still think it looks very dodgy like the user has clicked onto a 3rd party website which will result in a high % of abandonment of the website/page IMO. Making it within a theme wrapper as another user suggested would be good idea if feasible IMO.

    But it did come up

Though thank you for fixing it now.

And I agree with this exactly. Even I thought the same about my own website and had to double check the URL to be sure. The look and feel of it diminish the credibility of the site completely, even if most users will not see it, for the time that it does come up it would be nice if it could be better integrated so the design didn't look so dodgy.

Thank you though for fixing it currently @Marc Stridgen

I can bring up that internally. Just ensuring the issue of of it showing all the time is resolved first of all.

If we could just take that little catcha box and place it in the site offline wrapper, it would likely be an acceptable integration for most sites.  Give us the site name and a style of box that matches IPS's layout and it would improve multitudes times better.

Yes, IMO that's a big issue. Most users seeing this are probably going to think the site has been hacked and won't proceed.

@Marc Stridgen yes, the change seems to fix some problems.  But even as the admin I had to sit and wonder if I had some sort of malware when it popped up.  A solution that can pull the page wrapper or at least some branding/formatting would be a huge step to improve this.

Please have a read of the following, which shows what this is and why it is important
We have however reported internally that people are being shown repeatedly

It looks absolutely terrible and degrades the credibility of my website (which is a professional ran and successful business) completely. Users also speaking about it now.

Please can invision see this and let us know? Is it just temporary?

Same here, and it is often the first page a (new) visitor sees. If I was greeted with such a page somewhere else, I would leave immediately. And I haven't seen something similar on any other website. There is no hint that the user is on the website he intended to visit, just the warning/captcha as first impression.

It is happening regularly now for users. It also degrades the credibility as it looks like have accidentally gone onto a spam website / clicked on the wrong link due to the way the captcha is designed and looks. And degrades the credibility of my forum IMO

Can someone please give us an explanation as to why we have this verification in place? I am now unable to do any admin function as every click results in a verification process, that is sometimes only once, other times it results in a loop and I never get to the content I need.
This is really bad communication from IPS and hopefully there is a really good explanation and sollution.

I just got an update from my monitors that my sites are reporting degraded service and long response times in numerous areas.  I'd guess IPS is having server instability at this time and likely a DDOS given the catcha prompts.
But of course, this is just with information I can pull from my own sites and no official notice from IPS.  This is probably an automated system they have on play, but a automated notice for us would be an amazing feature.

On a side note, if it is a DDOS attack or something, they are doing a good job of keeping the sites up compared to the last few DDOS issues, but we really need communication or a notice system as just guessing is not a great experience for anyone.
I'm okay with a system like this if it helps (granted, it really needs a redesign), but we need info as customers to when things are being turned on and turned off.

I have gotten it on my sites and here, so I would assume that it has been deployed to everyone.  I have no news or information to share about it, but the design looks like a Google spam ad and that is pretty bad IMO.
Hopefully, it is just temporary due to a DDOS attack, but we never get that kind of information.

Sorry, guys, but this captcha on hosted services is becoming a user loser.
I am the admin and had to complete the verification about 6 times, before I see the page. This is not good at all.
Now I am unable to get passed the Captcha process, so what would happen to our users? I have managed to login as admin, but when I go to a post, I am in a loop with the verification process. This is atrocious.

ekforum got a reaction from SeNioR- in Invision Community does not support all iPhone IOS images
Previously this could be fixed by changing the settings on the iPhone under Settings > Camera > Formats from High Efficiency to Most Compatible (although not idea as HF is the default setting) this work around however does not fix all images. And sometimes when a user takes a photo and uploads it, they will see a black image. They can send this image to themselves on telegram for example and then download and then re-uppload, this uploads it as a jpeg, but some quality is lost.

Is it possible for Invision Community to natively support direct images that are uploaded from iPhone 15 and later in Most Compatible most and ideally also High Efficiency mode also?

To confirm this is happening only sometimes and not on all photos.
