There is nothing wrong with staying informed about the entire product line. After all, some admins will be interested in switching to the cloud offer, if it provides features or benefits they might want. So, they want to get that information as well. We just need to be able to easily tell which new feature applies to which plan.

Maybe make an enterprise only membership and forum then. Who really cares if you will never be an enterprise client? Why do I need to know about something I will never have available to me? I've wasted time reading someting thinking its a great new feature, that in turn, will not exist for me and many, many others.

I hear you and appreciate you weighing in. I don't necessarily agree we should stop informing the community as a whole about new capabilities our platform is capable of. However, I think it's worth mentioning that I will do better next time when talking about a new feature (that will include access for people on our self-hosted plans).

Yikes, it's only available to those paying more than $549 a month.
I feel so out of place on this site now.  It seems like just a couple of weeks ago the lowest plan included most everything at around $50 a month.  Now it includes less and went up to $89 a month.
Sadly, I suspect they will do away with us in the next couple of years.  Hopefully Xenforo continues to improve and doesn't go this route also.

Ah, well Jordan's original statement feels a bit disingenuous then. Not great, I have to say.

Well, that’s the “marketing talk” way of saying it. It’s already in black and white on the pricing page:

I'm not comfortable with the term 'cheapskates'. The self hosted version is not a budget product and neither is it inferior.

Since video streaming is an enterprise option only, I would say it does not apply to the majority on these forums. I would not have posted this, it only points out what the majority will not get. Especially with a title like "video streaming coming soon"...click bait!

We can only skip the news, if it is indicated to whom it applies.
    Scenario A:
“Streaming is coming (to enterprise plans)” I am not not on that plan, so moving on. Otherwise it will be scenario B:
“Streaming is coming!” Getting exiting. Having to research the details. Finding out to whom it applies. Being frustrated.  So, it’s very much about how the news are presented.

Is there a way to manage the application's usergroup permission? Nothing happens when I drop down the arrow under apps.

I was thiking of shutting off to certain usergroups to try and achieve what I want to do and hide content created by only some usergroups. Is this possible to shut the app off to certain usergroups in this manner via overall app permission?

    Happy Hump Day, team!
Last week, I shared a preview of some of the live community updates we're releasing. Our own community is already integrated with some of them, including who's typing a response, who's viewing a topic and sentiment analysis. Read more about them here:

There's another new feature that I want to touch on: video streaming.
Pretty soon, we'll be offering the ability to upload and then stream video content straight to your Invision Community-powered community. This is a great opportunity to offer video content directly onto your community and dissuade members from leaving to check things out on other streaming platforms like YouTube.
Speaking of YouTube, have you seen my interview with Invision's founders? 😆  One day soon we'll be able to share these video interviews right here!

There's going to be some exciting implementations to spark community engagement regarding these video streams, but more on that to come  🙃 🙃 🙃.
Feel free to leave any guesses in the comments.

While I've got you, here's a roundup of updates/fixes made to the platform by our talented dev team. Nicely done!

Excited to expand even more on the live community features, plus video streaming, in the near future.
It's worth mentioning this video streaming will be available on select standard plans. However, self-hosters, fear not! We have a really cool new feature for you dropping in June that I will touch on very soon. Here's a hint: heads up!
Thoughts? Drop us a line in the comments and join the conversation; I'd love to chat with ya.

The app's settings contain the groups from whom items are hidden - each item that can be hidden based on the viewer's group membership.
If you are trying to achieve the item you repeatedly have asked for, this app doesn't currently do it for you.
Will it in the future? Maybe/maybe not - this is the last comment I made about it, and it still stands.

That only works if the app has a public module, which doesn’t seem to be the case here.

So, this is for cloud only.
This will be available to the hi end people who probably spend many hundreds / thousands a month and never post here.
How many hobby sites can afford 149 dollars a month?
Not sure how many self-hosted customers you have, but I suspect that is who read these posts, and yet, it will not be available to us.  Not sure why I would be excited by this.
Kinda feels like a poke in the eye to be honest.

Is there any geo targeting framework built into IPS? I 'd like to target an ad to only show in US and a different ad elsewhere and can use 3rd party, just wondering if there is anything built in and use to show/hide. There is a plugin by @Michael.J but its not updated for 4.5

Just taken a look at the post you previously provided - and something is hidden. As it only contained a video, then I assume that the workaround of turning off the spoiler check is indeed working for you?
I'll be getting back to this one over the next week - taking the opportunity to do a re-write of the code, and also remove some kludges that are no longer required.

I'm a bit late, but I have some updated numbers based on the past 3 months of registrations. In the latest data:
Precision (proportion of users with a spam score >1 that are actually spammers) is 81%, which is up significantly on the 51% from 2020 Recall (proportion of spammers that get a spam score >1) is 24%, which is down slightly (but probably within margin of error) on the 28% from 2020 However, the number of spammers relative to actual users has increased since the data in the original post, which means the precision is not comparable. Correcting for that changes the precision to 66%, which is still a decent improvement over 2020.
The biggest change for us though is that the spam service can mod queue members rather than blocking their registration outright, which means the sub-optimal precision is not as important as it was. This, combined with a collection of banned words, banned links, and custom spam rules (via a custom plugin), has meant that over 90% of the spam posts were mod queued before being posted.

Setting them as Spam does not report them to IPS or do anything special.  It is just a status for the ticket.  It helps by not skewing reports on agent resolution, etc if you use the ticket reports.  But you could also just delete the ticket.
I personally just use CleanTalk.  It's cut down on the contact us form spam by about 95%.  For my site, I would average 1-2 spam messages PER DAY...  now only about 1-2 a MONTH get through.
I had a new spam ticket this morning, but it turns out it was not even from the contact us form...  it came from them emailing the support queue directly since we allow tickets to be opened via email.

I know you said no prevously but just want to keep it on the "wish list" for this app 😁  - A hide content posted by group setting.

AlexWebsites reacted to Adriano Faria in Notifications
    Hello,
It uses the notifications system so if the user chose to receive email, he will receive it. Personally, I think only the inline notification would be enough but I wanted to make it use all options. That’s up to the user… or to the admin enable/disable email in the ACP Notifications page.
