PatrickRQ got a reaction from Gabriel Torres in IPS Products are awesome, but your support BLOWS.
There were periods that IPS support was great but I think they got simply overwhelmed with number of support requests and increasing stupidity of human race.
I renewed my license after few years and suddenly found out there is no more ticket support. I sometimes find IPS support kind of "hard understanding" simple things or asking too many complex questions on simple issue report.
They work on a basis on self constructed pattern, probably as a result of past experience. Possibly it works great, however for simple matters it complicates things. Sometimes it is like writing "100 pages of documentation of a submit button".

From my experience working with customers in my company, I must say customer from before 10 years and customer now are two different sort of person. I may only say that nowadays customer is very demanding but worst in that is fact they act as a senior but have 0 ability of doing things themselves.

PatrickRQ got a reaction from ZLTRGO in [Commerce]Fee for payment options
Explanation is straight forward WHY NOT. Taxing.. including the fees directly in product complicates putting it in costs or removes your ability of excluding it from taxing if your company is on lump-sum tax rates rules. In result? It puts selling company on loss. There are ways to workaround it but it is costly accounting service.

I know selling in US is much simpler but EU and rest of the world have much more complex taxing rules. Therefore need to consider that.

As per title, would like to suggest creation of support ticket after purchase, associated to that specific purchase + give us ability to include all purchase custom fields values in it.

In Product config of Commence we may set what group to move in upon purchase and then select to return to previous group.
It would be good to see an option allowing to select what group to return after expiry. Particular cases require such behavior for better control of member privileges. Simple setting, much benefits, would appreciate it in near releases.

This is set by the Members automatically follow content they... setting under Notifications > Followed Content in the ACP:

Members can change this setting themselves in their notification settings, or when creating new content. It’s not possible to force this setting to always be on, except by creating a plugin and hooking into the relevant code.

I think you're outputting to the error log file incorrectly.
I took your output above and ran it based on my instance and saw a different OutOfRange issue.  So I double checked the cron format for saving error logs and noticed it was supposed to be different:
    Try:
    * * * * * /path/to/php -d memory_limit=-1 -d max_execution_time=0 /path/to/ipb/applications/core/interface/task/task.php MD5HASH >> /path/to/error.log 2>&1

PatrickRQ reacted to Randy Calvert in Caching methods in 4.6.9
The older methods (APC, Wincache, and XCache) have been depreciated for awhile now.  They were removed with 4.6.2.
See the release notes at:https://invisioncommunity.com/release-notes/  (click on 4.6.2)
Redis is the only supported method for caching going forward.  Your host needs to have the phpredis module installed on the server to connect to Redis.  If it's installed, you'll see a configuration option to enter the Redis connection info.

I believe upgrade from latest stock version of 3.x series should be supported forever, until any of your users will like to upgrade their forums.
Bug is in upgrader. Thanks God I have good memory and remembered what was the issue. It occurs when you have IP.Content database without assigned Page.
Now you are welcome to include the fix into upgrader 🙂 Thank you.

Maybe you can add more tutorials for Pages, same you did for "Release notes" 🙂 I think I asked that two years ago

PatrickRQ got a reaction from kmk in Can IPS share FAQ database/template for pages?
@opentype, thanks, I actually know how Pages work, I made Bug Tracker, Release notes, Guides and few more on this.

What I asked in the topic is IPS can share (export the schema) of their FAQ database and template they use, so we can use it as as base and adapt to own needs.

It would be nice from IPS side to share such. They shared tutorial about "release notes", why not to continue with that good pattern of useful "tiny" addons that do not deserve a product status.

In general it would be nice if IPS would ship such in default installation. Most people look for that Pages FAQ, Notes and more. Whoever won't like them would simply not use.

Just my way of thinking. THanks!

What is the discussion about. IPS should add other option as requested and every forum admin may decide how to use the ignore feature. I sometimes doubt whether single additional option that could be done within 20 minutes is worth multiple topics and writing a book, no offense!

    Hi,

Currently QA forums have similar approach as StackOverflow. It helps much if comes to real DEV or configuration specific questions and not discussions. However, comparing to StackOverflow the IPB's version misses ability to add comments like in Stack.

Why it is so important? To keep answers as clean as possible. We noticed the answers are often used to ask additional questions, where it would be better to add additional clarification questions under specified answer instead as a reply (answer). Hoping you will consider the request, at least as optional option to activate. Thanks.

Hey, IPS, you must do it!  This is a good part of any community.
You do a great job for us, but we do not have a some functionality, for example we want to create topics with custom template with fields. We want to create events with Database Relationship field to retrieve data from the Pages and etc.
Is it planned to do this in the future?

Hi, I think google photos is so populated today, as google map and others google products.
Why ips don't want to take this advantage of free storage for end users, have it integrated with IPS gallery or whatever? 🤔 Because don't like Google?
All my photos and videos are take by my cellphone, thanks for the google photos without limitation of storage, I can have this "big storage issue" resolved.
I would like have the photos album, videos or pictures, embedded into my ips site for my members or projects scenes of use.

    Hello,

I would like to suggest a field to extend current menu manager functionality. Now, when you add external link it is possible to define only the text and URL, rest is being wrapped behind. What if we would like to add extra attributes to open the link in popup window or add nofollow? Example possibilities after extending current functionality would be achieving something like this:
<a rel="nofollow" href="http://xxx.eu/contact" data-ipsdialog="" data-ipsdialog-remotesubmit="" data-ipsdialog-flashmessage="Thanks, your message has been sent to the administrators." data-ipsdialog-title="Contact Us">Contact Us</a> Hoping to see that simple extension soon.
