    I think maybe the group name, and maybe the joined date? Just some common info about that member.

    And yeah, just /membermap/ would be fine, it's very minor, but I like seeing those URLs as opposed to the ?app= ones.

    There's an unused function which can lead to an error at ?app=membermap&module=membermap&section=map&action=images.

    I have a few more feature suggestions too, if you don't mind. For the Admin side, it'd be nice if the settings were linked from the apps main menu, instead of having to go to the settings page. Admin options to remove member's markers would be good too. I think I'd rather the pictures shown when clicking on a marker were the profile pics instead of avatars. Since this is about where the members actually are at, I thinking showing their actual pic makes more sense. I also like the idea of an Admin being able to add additional icons. Could be cool for like setting a marker for a meetup or something? I'd probably never do that, but it'd be nice.

    Now that IPB is more and more "social network" oriented -even compatible with FB- it should be great if we could mimic some of the most usefull default behaviours of FaceBook, Myspace or Twitter.

    IMHO, one little thing that contributed to these sites hughe success is the fact that when you register for the first time, all of the social network features and email notifications default to ON. Of course , if you dont like it, you can disable it, but for most users, theses features stay activated. As a result you receives a lot of email notifications driving you to come back again and again, until you often get totally addicted. :devil:

    In IPB, we already have a lot of such features in member's settings: :rolleyes:
    - "Notify me by e-mail when I get a new personal message"
    - "Watch every topic I reply to" + "If enabled, ... notification type: Immediate Email Notification"
    - "Enable Profile Comments" + "Comment Notification Type: Notify by email"
    - "Show my friends in my profile" + "Friend Notification Type: Notify by email"
    - similar features in IP.Blogs...

    But sadly, most are disabled by default when a user register. To activate it, he would have (once registered and logedd-in) to walk thru all of the settings menu to activate a dozen switches. Guess what? Most of our members never do that, and they are not even aware that theses great features exist! Too Bad! :(

    It would certainly be way better if all the features above could be ON by default, or better, if the admin would choose from the ACP, which of theses features should be ON by default or not. :whistle:

    Doesn't it ring a bell to you?

    It would be nice to have possibility in ACP to set a prefix/sufix topic for forums like in IP.Downloads when you upload a file,in the autogenerated topic you can set a prefix or sufix: the title of the forum where is posted or your custom prefix.

    If there is a modification already made please tell me!

    Best regards!

    From the service I've gotten so far, basically IPB is straining the boundaries for it not being possible for them to improve their customer service. I cannot believe how helpful and knowledgeable they are in all their documentation, support (from tickets, and various forums); and I basically can't be anymore satisfied. I just wanted to share it with you guys. Just all the possibilities they give us and the amazing board to start out with, it astonishes me to no end. Things like iCommerce and auto-pm modifications are just great and I seriously think this is one of, if not the best software, customer support/forum company on the web. ;)

    I have been perusing thru the forums here and feel that the site organization is a bit frustrating.

    There are several boards for the same product but in a different category:

    IPS Company Feedback -> IP.Board
    Peer-To-Peer Technical Support -> IP.Board
    Product Modifications -> IP.Board
    Tracker -> IP.Board

    Although I appreciate that it is grouped by General area topic then by specific product when researching or reviewing the product it would be most helpful to
    have all forums for that product in one section.

    It would be great if there were a way to create an Alias of forums and categories so that you could group existing content and not have to
    have disparate conversations that span different categories.

    Example

    Product Forums ( A category )
    -- IP.Board ( A Category )
    ---Feedback
    ---Peer-To-Peer Technical Support
    ---Product Modifications
    ---Tracker

    The above "alias" forums would appear in the forums lists.
    they would serve to organize existing forums.

    Just a few ideas ;)

    The way we see it, there are thee types of documentation:

    - General Questions "How do I do this?", "What does this button do?", etc.
    This is provided through the inline ACP docs (a logical place since you'll probably be on the page when you think of these questions) - when viewing a page in the Admin CP, if you need extra help with the functions on the page, click the "Get Help With This Page" button. It's a work in progress, not all pages have documentation yet - but they main ones do, and every time someone requests a page that's not, we're logging that request to build a list of most requested pages.

    - Problems / Known Issues "I have x setup and when I do y, I get z"
    This is provided through the knowledgebase in the client area (a logical place since if the knowledgebase doesn't have your answer, you'll submit a support ticket) I think at some point we're going to improve that knoweldgebase some.

    - Guides
    This is what I think you're after the most. Guides are kind of a walkthrough for some of the more complicated stuff, or at least stuff with multiple steps.
    At the moment, this is what we know we're lacking in and what we're focussing on internally - we should have some nice stuff for you soon.

    Like I say, all are going to continually improve over time, but it's important to remember to make use of all three - the inline ACP help has a lot of information in, so if your question is of the "How do I..." nature, your answer is probably in there :)

    That's actually a sensible use of AJAX which we can look into :) I would still give people the option, it won't necessarily be the same every time, but the options can be presented inline, without leaving the topic.
