Tables, tables and more tables, couldn't agree more! Only type of 'button' that I've been asked for more regularly than anything else and a very logical, common sense fit to any website using this editor box.
Other than that, its great to see all the improvements and I'm sure it'll be well received across the board 😄👏

Being able to use full HTML and CSS for styling articles in Pages, at least for the admin, is one of the main criteria I used when I elected to switch to Invision Community to build my website, so if that's no longer available, that will be a HUGE step backwards, no matter how you slice it.
I understand that I'll have to play with the new editor to see how things are handled, but perhaps you can already answer a couple of questions:
Is there a way to create HTML anchor links?  Will it be possible to create custom HTML buttons the way I currently can, for example like this?

I haven't received an answer to my earlier post in this thread, so I wanted to bring attention to it. Personally, I don't need to embed things per se, just to be able to give classes or id to HTML elements so that I can easily style them however I want.
I also like to use an external code editor to edit the HTML so that I can easily for example do a "find and replace", then bring back the HTML code into my editor in Pages (all the time) or, more rarely, in the forum.
Basically to me HTML source is a huge deal for Pages, not a huge deal for the forum if I can find other ways to style span elements to reach my goals.

Yup, a must-have feature. I implemented it myself in the current CKE, and I hope IC5 will allow doing it too. Or, even better, it will finally include it for all IC5 users

Sometimes the editor won't let me enter anything at all before or after a quote (maybe it's a bug?), and when that happens I can enter source mode for example to add a paragraph just so that I can type in my answer.

I use source mode all the time, mostly for Pages article. There are things that are easier to me to edit in HTML in a code editor like BBedit and then paste in the text editor in source mode.
I would really, really miss source mode if it wasn't present in v5!!

as admin use it for the below
to embed cms blocks via the 'external embed' method
to embed 3rd party website embeds/iframes
not just for forum posts but for nearly all content items such as articles, events etc

Yes, we'll do a separate blog post, probably in the Developer Blog, but we created an editor plugin system with the ability to add and position new toolbar buttons.

    Hi @WebCMS
    here's another app: https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/file/75-most-used-tags/
I'm using this app to find useless tags and to see which tags could be useful to set as recommended tags.
And now I'm looking forward to the big update on tagging that @Matt has announced.

Claudia999 reacted to opentype in Need help with HTTP links
I would buy a ‘link search and replace app’ with simple and regex functionality. While running global search-and-replace queries is somewhat dangerous, the app could just go trough the matching posts one by one, showing the old and the new link with an option to click the old and new link before clicking “skip”, “change” or “remove link and replace with …”.
http to https changes would be typical, but there are more examples: Removing dead links entirely and replacing them with a note; Adding/changing affiliate links; Changing links from one domain to another after after takeovers or a rebranding (e.g. twitter.com to x.com); removing parts of of the domain (like www) or a specific folders after the external site changed their structure …

Claudia999 reacted to Joel R in Invision Community 4: Pages databases in Clubs
    1.  Will Clubs show the Page that contains the database category, or only the Database itself.
The Page that contains the database often contains elements like filters or custom widgets.  Whereas the Database is, well, just the database template.
    2.  Show Club Content Areas - This setting is all or nothing to all content areas in all clubs. This is an overly broad setting.
I can see how admins may want to show club Pages database in the Pages database, but perhaps not at all club nodes (or vice versa).
    3. News - This is more of an observation, but it's clear that the overwhelming common usage - albeit not the only one - is simply the need for News.  IPS may want to think about shipping a simple News function for clubs.  I have several clubs where the owners have used Blogs for several years now as a news system.
    4.  Search - Will members who don't have permission see search results, profile activity, and / or activity stream from club database fields?
    5. Choice of Databases - Will admins be able to choose which databases can be displayed in clubs, or is it all or nothing?

I like the concept of integrating Database categories into Pages and its giving me some food for thought of building some foundational databases that any of my 40+ clubs can use.

I suggest that you base the newly created portal, i.e. the home page, on the Pages application. Much better and supported by the IPS.

I wish. You can add something to the end of the <body> or to the beginning (which IPS calls “header HTML“ in the theme settings). But it’s just the top of the body.
There is no actual <head> option there. I always found that weird.

Mixoh’s last posts were in 2020, so I don’t think these products are being maintained anymore. Not to mention that the account is listed as “male” in “Ukraine” and software support isn’t the highest priority there at the moment.
