IF you are linking to a forum only. If you arent then its not an issue

    really biting my lip here

    when will this be resolved?

is it a case of 'only' if the 'category' is linked or do you mean the whole feature?
eg if a category is not linked it will allow 'scheduling' even if other category is linked?

why was this not  mentioned in the release notes?

    plus

can this be now escalated to a major bug and fixed asp as this is now stopping the upgrading of my site as it affects a major part of how operate my site, am sure there will be others who will be affected

    not a good look invision

Agreed. I was originally going to hold off on upgrading because of the backdating feature being an issue, but then they said they fixed it, so I proceeded to upgrade. But what wasn’t communicated was that we’d lose all scheduling options if we use the forums for comments which was a key selling point of IP.Content a decade ago.

Scheduling of articles in the future is a key and core requirement of a CMS.

    am I reading this right?

if I upgrade to the latest release I can no longer write an article, save it and then schedule it to publish say the next morning?

Do you mean this yellow part isn't showing up?

    G4nTZCw.png

Working fine on my 4.7.7 online and 4.7.8 Beta 2 boards.

yep that's what's missing on my admin setup

so guess that means there is a one-off glitch somewhere on my own setup

thanks for posting the above , helpful and appreciated

Let's test that by checking the obvious possibility - edit the Administrator group, go to the Content tab and scroll down to the 'Tags' section. Is the "Can use prefixes?" setting toggled on?

    Could contain: Text, Page

    thumbs up

yep both above options toggled on in both admin and moderators group settings

but as said there is no show of the prefix option for the 'admin group' when hit 'add tags' on the  forum but the option does show for moderators group

    have tested on default theme

  5. it seems as far as my setup goes

moderators accounts can use the tag prefix feature

    but admin account can not

have checked permissions etc but still no joy

    so the question is

is it just my set up or is it maybe a invision wide restriction ?

or maybe am missing something obvious?

    anyone confirm/advise/explain ?

    thanks

There are no plans to add a notification to the AdminCP for patches. I am just starting the discussion to see how many people are in the same boat and would like to see a notification like this added.

Thanks for chiming in. If there are others also keen to see this, please let us know.

    yes be a worthwhile addition

often they are 'early' pointers to possible issues that you are not aware off yet, eg latest date pages issue

a stop gap or alternative would be for them to be announced on here in a topic, so people can then subscribe/follow the topic

  7. below gives an interesting view on all this

    https://web.dev/bfcache/?utm_source=lighthouse&utm_medium=lr#never-use-the-unload-event

Never use the unload event #

The most important way to optimize for bfcache in all browsers is to never use the unload event. Ever!

The unload event is problematic for browsers because it predates bfcache and many pages on the internet operate under the (reasonable) assumption that a page will not continue to exist after the unload event has fired. This presents a challenge because many of those pages were also built with the assumption that the unload event would fire any time a user is navigating away, which is no longer true (and hasn't been true for a long time).

So browsers are faced with a dilemma, they have to choose between something that can improve the user experience—but might also risk breaking the page.

On desktop, Chrome and Firefox have chosen to make pages ineligible for bfcache if they add an unload listener, which is less risky but also disqualifies a lot of pages. Safari will attempt to cache some pages with an unload event listener, but to reduce potential breakage it will not run the unload event when a user is navigating away, which makes the event very unreliable.

@Martin A. Thank you so much for the fix, manual location update is now working here.

There is still a tiny bug, the matching characters of the search result are wrapped in <strong>-tags after selecting the entry. However, it's still working fine.

    Could contain: Page, Text, File

    ---

    Feature request

Your map is very useful for our community, Our members are working remotely and their location changes often. So far we made the experience that most of their locations are outdated, cause they forget to updated it. (It also happened to me...)

What do you think about an auto update feature? Every x day(s) when accessing the community the current geolocation is matched with the stored location. If the difference is more than x km, a dialog appears: "do you like to update your location?"

same issue as the <strong> tags

also having issues with members permissions, eg deleting a marker

only marker option shows to a normal member is  the 'edit' ?

  9. profile maps seem to have gone missing as well, but dunno if that's connected to this

5 hours ago, Martin A. said:

Yeah. Not sure what's happening right now. The API is returning blank responses, the documentation page doesn't load, they haven't replied to my email yet and they haven't replied to a forum post where someone else is having the same issue.

They're either having issues, or they've silently discontinued this API.

when using on default theme, both on map page and marker page

'Autocomplete and suggestions' is not working when entering a new location by keyboard

which results in the form being unable to submit a new or edited location

    am getting this in console

    listener not found

    _off@leaflet.min.js:1

    leaflet.min.js:1

    which links to https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/leaflet/1.8.0/leaflet.min.js

everything else seems ok, just the 'Autocomplete and suggestions' features when adding/editing a location resulting in the form not working

    any pointers/advice?

Can you send me your site and login credentials in a PM to reproduce this error?

Although it looks like MapQuest may have changed something on their end, as I'm not getting any location results back from them. Is this the same for you? Regardless of what location I enter, there's no suggestions returned.

    hi

are you getting the same problems?

    ie no autocomplete return etc

Yes this is intended. There is no container specific filtering on the overview page.

thanks for the reply Andy @Andy Millne

ok understand that working as above is fine and should be intended if you are indeed using the 'overview' as per the selected option

however if you are not using the 'overview' as the default selection, say you select the 'week view' as default then  every event will have a link that will  now send viewers to the 'month' page and the same for any calendars using  'day view'

which to someone using the week or day view as 'default' choice does bring in major usability issues along with seo  ones

Could you not add a 'if \IPS\Settings::i()->calendar_default_view== overview add the ?view=month ' and if not..

then leave the static url as generic so that the week, and day views choices as default are then respected and followed?

    thanks

  14. am in a similar boat

as a very temp workaround  you can hide the 'event online' option when adding an event via custom. css

    #check_event_online_wrapper{display: none;}

I would expand your suggestion to

have the choice of online and physical locations set at each section/guide level rather than site wide

that way sites can offer different sections if needed

  15. in the latest version of calendar (4.7.3)  $event->container()->url() appears to be hard coded to always use the '?view=month'  url no matter what the default calendar view is set to

in /sources/calendar/calendar.php the previous version had

    public static $urlBase = 'app=calendar&module=calendar&controller=view&id=';

in the latest version it is set to

    public static $urlBase = 'app=calendar&module=calendar&controller=view&view=month&id=';

If support can not get access to the site in question, where the issue is happening, and they themselves can not reproduce this on their installations, it is impossible to spot, find and/or fix it.

It is the equivalent of going to a car garage and tell the mechanics there that my car has this problem and I want you to fix it, but I do not want to give you access to the car itself.

thanks for your input, here's where I am coming from

my main immediate concern is to get this 'bug/glitch' resolved to work asp on a 'live' site, otherwise there will be dead links

have found over time that the quickest way to do this is usually to firstly try and resolve it myself

this is what I have just done 👍

to use your analogy, I am now telling the car manufacturer that something is wrong with the latest model but unfortunately as I am still using the car, I can not bring it in for the mechanic to have a look

We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section.

We look forward to further assisting you.

again sorry but no real wish to give access to a live site

it's something that should be easy to spot / find / reproduce

am just making you aware that it does exist and that may require action

I suspect that its simply due to the nexus/commerce  app not being able to handle the

    getPrefComment

part of the url query string
