Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 29, 20223 yr Hey there! Total noob question here, I know. How do I add code to the <head> tag of all pages of my Invision Forum? I already added a bunch of code a while back (Google Analytics, Mailerlite, Heap, etc.), but now I have no idea how to get back to it to update it. 😆 I thought it was through System > Site Features > Integrations > Google Analytics since I read somewhere on the IPS forums that you can add any code there, not just GA ... but I don't see any code in that area, so I would have added it somewhere else. What's another way? (FYI, I didn't go directly into the code itself since I don't feel comfortable there; it was through the Admin CP somewhere). Thanks for any help you can provide!Â
March 29, 20223 yr Community Expert Im not sure what you mean by you can not see any code there. You would add the code
March 29, 20223 yr @Marc Stridgen, he does not know WHERE he added the code in the past and needs help to find the place he inserted it. It would be so easy, if the customer would not be forced to misuse Analytics fields or mess templates to just add some external JS to the site 😊
March 29, 20223 yr Community Expert Its very likely you added it to your globalTemplate, so I would check there first of all 23 minutes ago, Sonya* said: It would be so easy, if the customer would not be forced to misuse Analytics fields or mess templates to just add some external JS to the site 😊 Feel free to add that as a suggestion in our suggestions forum
March 29, 20223 yr Author Sonya read me right. (Thanks Sonya!) Marc, I'm just trying to figure out where I added the code. Clearly at one point a while back I put it there in the head tag on all my pages, I just can't figure out where to go in the AdminCP to update it. Thanks for any direction you can help give!
March 29, 20223 yr Community Expert Likely this has been added in your Analytics area in ACP -> System -> Integrations -> Google Analytics. Alternatively, you may have added this in your theme. For more information on how to edit your theme, please go to:Â Â
