Emaxo Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 As the title suggests, in my gallery I upload high resolution PNG images, I want the thumbnails to be compressed jpeg instead of png. Where do I set this? jackflash 1
Daniel F Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 There’s no setting for this, but I’m really curious .. why would you want to do this?
opentype Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) I would want this as a site-wide feature (for user content). A 5 MB PNG screenshot would usually just be 100 KB as JPG. Edited June 15, 2021 by opentype Tripp★, Emaxo, Ibai and 2 others 1 1 3

I have a huge gallery and by uploading only high resolution pngs the thumbnails even if scaled take up a lot of space and obviously they are slow to load, having the jpg format would be a great compromise Edited June 16, 2021 by EmaxDev typo HDiddy and jackflash 1 1
Emaxo Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 Is there any update on this front? Unfortunately the PNG thumbnails in my gallery are becoming unsustainable in terms of space
Randy Calvert Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 This is not supported by the software. So it’s not currently possible. You can look at having a 3rd party resource developer create this functions for you or you can post a request in the feature request forum for it to be considered for a later release.

Unfortunately the PNG thumbnails in my gallery are becoming unsustainable in terms of space There would be no update on this, as its not something on which the software can do at the present time. There is no active plan to support this function at present, however please post up within our suggestions area if you wish to see something like this in the future. Ensure of course you detail the reasoning, as this may not be the only way around the issues.
