Are there any settings that control logging out?  I have several members complaining that they are being logged out after random periods of inactivity.  It's not from clearing cookies or anything, they leave the forum up on the screen and walk away...when they come back, they are logged out!  I cannot reproduce but I have enough complaints to worry me!

No, there are no settings for that other than the "Remember Me" option on the login form. Typically reports like this come down to browser-based security/privacy extensions in my experience if you can't reproduce yourself.

Ok, thanks!  I'll have users check their browsers..

There is a button in the ACP that logs everyone out, yet I assume you're not clicking it. 🙂

Is your server time correct and accurate? Where are you storing session info? Redis? SQL?

No I haven't clicked the log out button, LOL!  Server time is correct and I am using SQL

Do browser updates and clear cache.  Restart the devices

I'm having user complaints about the same issue.

Sessions via Redis and it's happening on various devices/browsers without any cookie blocking scripts etc. I'll report back in here if I find anything.

Anyone figure this out?

This is quite an old topic. As mentioned above, this tends to be caused by browsers more than anything else. Privacy tools and the likes

It can also be caused by incorrect server settings, for example (not used much now as its for http) but Varnish Cache used to log people out if incorrectly set up.
