I'm just starting to create a home page with a grid your news. And I want to highlight my members topics in the forums with comments directed back to the Forum topic. On the Other hand I will also have a selected group of members who will have the control to create an Article first and I'd like then for a new topic to be discussed in the forums.

I've already purchased the app. My Forum Topic content is generated within the Forums, the best topics will be promoted to Articles to be highlighted on the Home page which makes great use of this app. Because the new Article all ready has a fair amount of discussion within the Forums having a 2nd place for commenting is confusing and redundant. Adding the choice of starting a New Topic in the Forums or comments continuing in to the Original Topic would be ideal addition to this great app.
Adriano Faria Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 I will read all suggestions. If that's the will of majority users, I'll do it. InsideEdge and sound 2
NoGi Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 @Adriano Faria, when I try to promote an article under IPS 4.1.8.1 it opens up just a blank article with no content now.

It works fine for me, @NoGi: http://www.screencast.com/t/gc0C9e4Y What do you mean by "blank article"? Without the post content?
NoGi Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 This is what I get with v1.1.1 of plug-in using Chrome on Mac or PC with the same settings as you:
Adriano Faria Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) Teaser paragraph? This is not from IPS. It's a plugin. Disable it and see if mine runs. Or is it a new field you add? Edited February 25, 2016 by Adriano Faria
NoGi Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Which new field? Teaser paragraph is IPS, I don't have any other plug-in that installed it.

Adriano Faria Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) I don't see anywhere on my Pages that option. It should be in ARTICLES -> FIELDS. No, I test first on my install. If I can reproduce the issue, then it's a plugin's issue. What do you got on ARTICLES -> FIELDS ? Edited February 25, 2016 by Adriano Faria

Just tested exacly what you have and works fine for me: http://www.screencast.com/t/nN2oM01nP Uninstall the plugin, clear cache, reinstall, clear cache, etc.
NoGi Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 OK that seems to be working now. I'll do some more testing. thanks. Adriano Faria 1
NoGi Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Looks like it's working but it's creating a new topic for an existing topic. I thought this was already fixed? Or was it to be fixed in next release?

sound Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 any word on the next release? as still cumbersome to use. I need to delete duplicate posts and carry out manual editing of the database entries to tie up the existing topic with the artcile thanks -FP 1
Adriano Faria Posted April 11, 2016 Author Posted April 11, 2016 I will review all replies and will apply the most wanted. New version soon.

I think it's best to have a perfect synchronization between the article and the topic. I am considering purchase, but really need this feature as well. If the article comments are stored in the database (for all other articles in that database) then it makes sense to transfer the comments over to the article comments, instead of storing them in a thread. Then, the original thread should be deleted to avoid the duplicate content penalty. The Old Man 1
