[-] and [X] buttons ?
by Guest forums.bd- 2 replies
- 1.7k views
instead of having to select posts first and then choose an option, why not put these two buttons? [-] and [X] side by side? [-] will "hide/unapprove" the post. and clicking [X] will move the post to designate trash can forum? also when [-] is used initially, then there needs to be another logical buttons. one is [+] will undelete/unhide the post. the part in italics are valid only after using [-] option. i hope my message is clear to understand. thanks. the idea is similar to using this button. . that's how it could be implemented.

Edit Custom Member title via profile
by Guest Logan- 3 replies
- 1.6k views
Would be nice if you could edit a user's custom member title via their profile instead of having to go into the ACP to do it. I think that's the only profile field that has to be edited from the ACP? Odd. Any reason why it's currently set like that?

Adding Pictures directly from the gallery as attachement
by Guest OnlineAlien- 2 replies
- 1.7k views
Since uploading pictures with invision board don't get resized but they do with the gallery option. It would be better if people could choose to add attachements from their gallery... This way, i could promote them to use the gallery option to add pictures... And also the option that users can only post pictures using the gallery option and then choose their attachement from a gallery listing thx

Moderators in Forum Index
by Guest n-k- 2 replies
- 1.8k views
Right now, moderators are only shown in the board index below the subtitle. This means, that if you want to find out who a forum is moderated by, you have to go to the parent forum and look at the description, which is pretty counterintuitive. Why don't you put this information directly into the forum index, like most other forums do?

Edit rollbacks + moderation control
by Guest JayX- 1 reply
- 1.4k views
I think set staff of a site (ie via a flag in usergroup setup) should be able to rollback edits in order to see what the user has decided to remove. Ie a user might state something offensive, annoy a lot of people then remove it before anyone has had chance to report it. If a tag came up on every post that had an edit applied to it , the admin/mod could then see a history of that post (ie all revisions, and who did what..) Real world example - 2 mods were seen active at a time when a guest post (hence not editable by the original user) had its contents changed to something of a questionable taste. original poster claims it wasn't him, and it must've been one of the two …

Thread Open From / Unitl additions
by Guest JayX- 0 replies
- 1.2k views
Not sure about Thread Open From, but Thread Open Until has no indication of this fact to the users.. maybe some icons with a mouseover for until date? Just something so people are very aware the post will auto close, and won't get confused when it shuts down for no reason.

IP reuse report
by Guest softwarenerd- 1 reply
- 1.5k views
Right now the system allows one to report on a particular IP. The forum we run has a lot of political and philosophical debate, so we often have people who change IDs and come back with a new persona. Often they don't know enough to come back with a different IP. I'd like to see a feature that does not require Admins to be so proactive. I'd like to see an ACP option that produces an "IP-reuse Report". The Admin will specify a range of dates. The system will examine all IPs from Posts, Votes and Registrations in that date-range, check if they have been reused by another member any time in the past, and produce a report of the ones that have been reused.

What about adding feature, that allows to add moderator to specific forum, and all subforums of it? same with deleting, like: "delete all moderator privileges for user NAME" This can be handy in forums where is a lot of subforums.

When making a new subscription package, in addition to changing the user's primary usergroup there also should be options to give a user secondary permission masks and secondary groups. Of course when it expires remove what was given by the package.

[Sugg]One Log In several Identity
by Guest Grath- 4 replies
- 1.9k views
Hello all, With the use of converge (a log in system, if I have correctly understand), what do you think about add the possibility to a user to create more then one identity. This could be usefull to make a difference between a moderator or admin post, posted with the identity Admin for example and a post just to continue a discussion posted with a "normal" identity.

Setting Max Upload Size Picture and/or Automatic resize picture during
by Guest OnlineAlien- 0 replies
- 1.7k views
Hello I would like it be possible to limit the size of a picture during upload such as 500kb maximum. Which isnt possible now. You can only restrict the size per post, but if i do that, then users will just post multiple times instead of adjusting their picture size. Or it would be much better if invision automaticly changes the picture to the right size which u should be alble to choose in settings.... It should be possible to set the size at 500 kb and all pictures larger will be changed to fit that size or another size. I have alot of users who post high quality pictures which takes up alot of space. I have no way to limit that, unless they use the gallery. Which m…

Double Post Count
by Guest Bwen- 3 replies
I've looked through quite a few pages of suggestions but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for but I might of just accidently missed it. My idea is that, there is two post counts. One post count for a certain area of the forum, then another post count for another area of the forum, with both post counts sitting under your avatar picture. I don't know if this has already been done, but could someone please help me as I have seen it done on another forum before I believe. Thanks. Brendan.

ACP Restrictions -> Inherit
by Guest Logan- 6 replies

I'd like to see a feature where when you're adding an admin to the restrictions, IF there is another admin who has already been added with restrictions there would be an option to inherit the restrictions from that other admin.

ACP Checkboxes
by Guest Rοb- 4 replies
- 2.8k views
More please! Examples: You can "Add a moderator to all checked forum(s)" by ticking boxes but you have to remove them one by one which can take forever and a day. Saved Moderator Logs - Same thing, have to delete one by one. Saved Admin Logs - Same... This goes on in a few places, im sure ive missed some. Anyway, please take this into consideration for a new release because it is currently a complete pain to perform some of the above tasks! Thanks :D

Improvement to recurring Calendar Events
by Guest Im4eversmart- 1 reply
- 2.2k views
Hi. I would suggest that you make it so when you are adding recurring events on the calendar that instead of just making them every week, month, or year, you could instead let the user decide if it could be every 5 days, or every 2 weeks, etc.

Improvement: Request Password Feature
by Guest sully- 5 replies
- 2.3k views
Hey, A sudden idea just came into my mind when reading up on some security exploits. I'm not to sure if this is a decent suggestion or not, but I thought I should pass it onto you guys to consider? :) Anyway, ill cut to the chase. At present the request password feature just generates a new URL where you go to reset your passwords. No questions asked. Just click the link in your email, and bobs your uncle. How about before this URL is generated, your asked a secret question (which you set on registration / UserCP) which you must answer before the URL is generated and sent to your email. Like they do on most sites with a new-password request. What ya think? :)

Out of Office system
by Guest bikerdave- 3 replies
- 1.7k views
How about an out of office system, that you could enable when you are going to be offline for a while. It could be for holidays, illness or other events that stop you getting onto your forum. An out of office PM could be sent automatically to the person trying to contact you, explaining that you're offline and redirect them to another admin/moderator or tell them when you'll be back online.

Subscription Manager Suggestion
by Guest SnowBlower- 5 replies
- 2.9k views
I currently use the subscription manager with the paypal gateway enabled, and whenever someone subscribes it moves them into a different usergroup correctly however, when they decide to cancel their recurring subscription it takes their special usergroup away even though they have paid for the entire month, is there any possible way to make it so it keeps them for the amount of time they paid rather than cutting them short and having to manually activate them again? It just seems abit stupid to remove someones entire paid amount of time just because they no longer want to subscribe recurringly. I know vBulletin does this how it should be done, so I know it's something…

Subscription System Improvements
by Guest Brandon C- 1 reply
- 1.4k views
The Subscription System implemented into IPB is a very complex structure and is a very nice feature. However, I feel that some limitations have set people back into looking out for and purchasing alternatives (such as Purchase It from Munjmedia.com, which I use and know several others do as well) that may get the job done better than what is in place currently. I believe it would be nice if IPS upgraded the Subscription System somehow and made improvements to it so people wouldn't have to go and buy alternatives (not unless they absolutely wanted to). I believe one important feature that should be added for the Subscription System should have: The ability to purchase a…
