Message box does not move cursor to last line when clicking below last

If you enter 3 lines into a message editor when the editor box height is larger than 3 lines (ie. there is blank space below the text), then move the cursor to the second line and click with the mouse cursor in the blank space of the editor below the last line, the cursor is not moved to the last line. It would be better IMO if it did. It should also move the cursor to the column position relative to where the mouse cursor is along the line (or at the end of the line if it's off the end). I don't like that clicking in the empty space below text in a RTE does nothing. Effectively, I want the RTE to work in the same way as the Standard with regard to this.

Hello, my name is VogonFord. I'm a moderator for SimaqianStudio History Forum. Recently we've been coming up with an annoying bug in IPB 2.1, which is that if a member adds "-" before and after the members name, it doesn't register the member correctly but allows the member to post. "-world series of poker bracelets-" was one we had yesterday. I know we can delete the posts, but as we don't want the entire community having moderator rights, the power to delete is only within about 6 to 8 active moderators and our admin at a time. With a forum that gets hundreds upon hundreds of posts a day, it becomes a hassle to control all of them. The problem is this bug keeps us from …

Well to save me going through the trouble of posting like 10 screenshots and spending 20 minute explaining something that is difficult to explain, I'll just give you a link. Click here and wait for the page to finish loading, you have to wait for everything to finish loading otherwise it won't work. Once it's finished look in the first post. You'll see a thumbnail image which will look just like this: Click it, and see what happens. I think something like that in IPB would be amazing. :D

Page freezes @ .png files

When using IE, and clicking on a page containing .png files, the page freezes up when it stops loading. The more .png files on the page, the longer it freezes. This is particulary evident on Alex Duggen's forum as his members have a lot of these files in their sigs. :(

After a good look around l've decided to stick with 2.1.7. Some of the new features are turning this into a kid's playground, l hate things like "My Friends", it's too immature for words, and can't be turned off, the same goes for the new Profile, but at least that can be tossed. When l see all the suggestions made for this version that didn't get in, and those that did, l have to wonder where this is heading, a Rupert Murdoch buyout? Hi, I can see in the new profile, which I like though, that one will be tracked when viewing a profile. We have here in the Netherlands a Hi5 look-a-like, called Hyves (www.hyves.nl). They recently introduced the possibility of tracking which members viewed your profile. As Hyves did not a good job introducing this feature, a lot of people got angry because they were tracked down, viewing f.i. their ex-girlfriend's profile. My suggestion for the alpha release of IPB 2.2 is the possibility for members to turn off the tracking while viewing profiles. I'm not sure if it is already an admin- or usergroup-option. Just wondering how you think about it. :) Grtz, Pieter

I'm curious why the buttons were changed for the insert xxx reply box items, such as insert image, insert link, etc.? They are difficult to make out, and without a mouseover, I wouldn't have been able to figure out what they were (well, except for maybe the email and quote). I really liked the old style better. Do you think we will be able to just replace those gif images with the old?

Hello, I think profile page can be improved, I was browse through a profile of one member on this forum and at the bottom of the page there was lots of free space because of long Friends list, which was not looking good, see the image below :- I think friends list should be in Horizontal table instead of vertical, means there should be 4-5 friends in one row of the table instead of on friend in one table, I have done something to show it through example image :- Aftre chnaging this some free space will be covered like in the image below :- I am not sure this is good suggestion or not, It just came into my mind so thought to share it :) Best Regards Hassan

So I'm wondering, I have a SuSE box, I set it up with a copy of my forums, uploaded the files, it runs okay... Components shows a blank page... so does various other features (the arcade works fine though :P). Anyway, I just copied over the old installation, nothing fancy. Is this the propper way? What if I want to clean out those old incompatalbe components (I can't get to the screen!)? How do you guys do it? I just wanna know for when I upgrade my active board to 2.2 Final.

Iframe in acp - I think it would be better if there were a html page to be displayed in admincp iframe where news update is displayed. Its safer than having a direct link to mysql on IPB server. Less errors will be displayed in thousands of admincp's

Ok if you're not familiar with the Moderator Centre final modificatio for 2.1.7......then, hmm...go familarize yourself with it at 'Ize. :DIt's really great. Basically all reported posts get sent to a central system where moderators can add comments, assign statuses etc. with a little my assistant-esque type tab, with snazzy ajax etc.It also works with the blog and gallery I think...would be cool to have a report PM thing too hmm?Anyway I think you should really, really consider doing this with IPB, it would help a lot.There's also a little x new reports thing on the member bar. :DIf you want screenshots then...ugh I'll get some.

Now here's an idea... Make it so that if a user's member group has permissions to edit their own topic titles and descriptions, give them the ability to use the ajax title/description editing in forum view... You know the one where you hold down the mouse for a few seconds and you can edit the title and description inline?
