Hey I was noticing the Bug Tracker on the top right of this forum.. I was wondering if that would be avaliable to the general public or will it just be for IPB forum only? Make Profile like a Portal

There are lots of mixed feelings about the new profile page. I'm reminded of the proverb ... you can please some of the people, some of the time, but you can't please all of the people, all of the time. The problem, as I see it, is the number of different components, ensuring that many people will find something they just don't like, in my case it's the Comments and Friends. Yet, when you look at what you have, you can see many things you could add, it could almost become a mini personal web site in it's own right. In light of this, wouldn't it make sense to allow comprehensive control of what you want to see in your own profile? A bit like a portal, but with member as…

Confirmation for removing logs

I don't know if this is implemented in 2.2, since I haven't used it yet, but currently when you look at the Moderator logs or Admin logs page in ACP and click to delete logs for a user, there is no confirmation that you actually want to remove them, and it just removes them right away. If someone clicks the button accidentally, logs going away for such a simple mistake can be kinda frustrating... So I guess you get my point: a confirmation page to remove logs... A personal experience just made me suggest this... :rolleyes:

Hi again, I gave up on adjusting my custom skins for this new version (that I love btw), so I redesigned them from scratch. I think I'm ok now, and I will know what to do when the final version is released. My other big concerns now are two of the features in the new profile, "Last Visitors" and "Add Friend." Because I run a board for victims of abuse, I must always be very careful about their privacy and their feelings. I already know that the "last visitors" feature will be a BIG problem, especially for members who have suffered through stalking issues and may be paranoid about who sees their profile. namefield focus on ACP login screen

Why does it still focus on the namefield even when it is not blank? If the admin's already logged into the board but they don't have an active ACP session, it would make more sense to populate the namefield box and focus the password box.

first impressions: - personal portal no longer works right, personal photo dos not resize, it stays big. also, on the skin i was developing no tab is selected (middle section of te portal) and cannot select any. it was working in rc2, right before upgrading. - the new feature for editing the css slows down at 35% and completely frozes at 38%. result is a blank page. (i upgraded a rc which was a clean fresh install)

Cookies problems

I'm trying IPB 2.2 RC 3 and I've problems with cookies. - The session id isn't stored in a cookie but it passes via url; - The autologin doesn't work: when I close the browser I must re-login; - The forum doesn't write the cookie forum_read. I've already tried to: - set Cookie Domain, Cookie Name Prefix, Cookie Path in ACP; - disable stronghold cookie; - delete all cookies without solve the problem. I've this problems with IE 6 and Firefox 1.5. If I try IPB 2.1.7 (on same machine) there aren't problems with cookies. Is it a bug? I read others users has the same problem. Thanks, Mauro

I just got 2.2, uploaded the files, went to upgrade and... Turns out there's no upgrade file for IPB 2.1.7!! What the heck?! :blush: It's trying to upgrade from ipb 1.3 when I have 2.1.7, and there are no files for 2.1.7 afaik. What can I do? are the files missing or is there not an upgrade for that version yet?

As you can see, in the following image (marked with a red box) there are red boxes around some white lines, it is like this in Internet Explorer 6 & 7 as well as FireFox 1.5 & 2.0 ...and as 7 & 2.0 are the latest final version of those browsers and the most popular I thought it'd be something to enquire about. Why do these white (or whatever colour) lines appear? They don't in 2.1.7 (and before) so why now in 2.2? (Below is an image of IPB Board software 2.2 (top image) and the 2.1.7 below, as you can see 2.2 has those lines where as 2.1.7 doesn't :whistle: ) Screen Shot(s) P.S - The problem still appears on 3 other computers in addition to mine.

Hi, yesterday I downloaded a test board to see how my custom skins would look on IPB 2.2, and found out they are not compatible with this new version. I know it's a common problem as I read other posts about it. I also know that 2.2.0 RC 3 is not the final release but I would still like to learn how to optimize my skins for this 2.2.0 RC 3 so that I won't have to start from scratch when the final version is released. Just looking @ the new security debug notice in news and thought the obvious thing would be to make the sql debug page ONLY work for admin or root admin, wouldn't that just improve security tons? I use it alot of when making mods and testing stuff on live boards when optimizing my db and do always turn it off afterwards but can't see why anyone else would need to see it and i know how potentially unsafe it is if left on.
