Hi, I'm writing this here because I tried calling ips during business hours, then after, and then wrote an email, and still havent heard anything back. I would very much like to purchase the Developer package on the customer site, however, there seems to be a problem. When going to the ordering page, you are asked if you'd like to order a new domain, and if so, then to type a name in, and it will check for availability. Sounds simple, right? :blink: Wrong. [Suggestion] Post Questions

Just a thought for future releases, but I think a nice feature to see would be the option to have different types of posts. For instance, currently a post can either just be a regular topic or a poll. But I was thinking that maybe it could go one step further to say whether the post is a question or not. This way when the post is tagged as a question the user can let the topic go until and mark the topic off when the question has been answered. I have seen this done on other websites and I really think it would be a useful feature to add to IPB especially to those customers who use the software as a support area.

Caching of ALL logs will lower resources and free up space on people's servers Moderator LogsAdmin LogsAdmin Login LogsEmail Error LogsEmail LogsBot Logs Task Manager Logsand also to make sure the cache is always updated add a spot in the cache manager for each log I just tested this with Bot Logs on an IPB 2.2.2 dev forum and it freed up 2 queries and freed up 1MB fo space so if each log is 2 Queries then this will save 14 total queries maybe Matt or Brandon can comfirm as to total queries it takes to add those 7 logs to the DB

IPB really could use a system showing how many people are viewing each forum from the board index page similar to how a lot of vbulletin sites have. There have been several mods for this, but not a single one worked properly. The current one doesn't work in certain forums for some weird reason. Another works, but does not add up subforums in the number. This is probably the main thing I would like as a feature at some point.

Database transfer from invisionfree to IPB board

I wasn't quite sure where the best place to post this would be, but I would like to know what type of pricing I would be looking at if I were to transfer my whole invisionfree community from there to my own standard license IPB board. I'm assuming that this is very much possible because it would be a big shame to have to lose member profiles/posts/registration dates/ topics etc.... I have right around 190,000 posts and more than 10,500 registered users. Is there a certain price I'd be looking at if I want to tranfer my whole board to an IPB board? sir i was submit a topic which i have asked a question when i click on any post it shows an error like this " Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1245184 bytes) in /home/zendurl/public_html/f/funhifun/forum/sources/ipsclass.php(1976) : eval()'d code on line 1108 " when you tell me a code which is "ini_set('memory_limit', '100M');" The problem was fixed but now it again arise now what i do i gain overwrite that file to old one but vain please sir tell me

Friends Window - Popup blocker

It turns out that some popup blockers will block the friends window... Was a bit confusing for one of my members who had no idea until they noticed a tiny icon saying something was blocked. She was trying to add a friend and it would not work because of it... Maybe there's not much you can do about it... But if it was somehow ingeniously, without over bloating, worked into the My Assistant window it would solve that problem. You could have an arrow that pops it out into a new window for the conveniences of having it in a window. Or make the function of adding friends separate from the window itself... Or both.

Authentication: is AD/LDAP better supported

Does 2.2 have better support for Active Directory/LDAP authentication and syncing? We us IPB on a corporate intranet, so better AD support would be very very nice! I'm currenlty using AD on my 2.1 install for authentication, but what I'd really like is for the board to sync with AD and pull in my AD users complete with first name and last name, email address, job title, department, phone number and even use there staff photogaph as their Avatar - that would be perfect. :thumbsup:

Hi, I am trying since morning to Update my contact Email address, But It does not seem to work. When ever i update the email, I am unable to log back in without reseting the password and using old Contact email login. :blink: anyone know or facing the same problem. I have already submitted a ticket to update the email address for me "Ticket #384551" But I think there seem to be bug, which is not allowing me to update the information and keep messing with the password when i ever i press UPDATE button.

When a member is being disciplined and is put on post mod they can easily make a post that is acceptable thus it being made visible. However this person can easily change the post into something offensive after it is visible. I notice you cant turn edit own posts off in their profile so we cant stop them from doing this. Maybe this needs revision. Thought? Spike

When both members and new members are using our site they are often getting the following message. Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in e:\domains\f\fm-ace.co.uk\user\htdocs\forums\ips_kernel\class_db_mysql_client.php on line 555 I have contacted our hosting site and they have said it is not a problem at our end, so I was wondering if you guys could shed any light on the matter. Is it the way we have set the board up or something else? Any help would be appreciated.

Just wondering if this is a known problem -- on my board, folks PM counts turn to -1 or -2 and there isn't anything we can do about it except send a few messages and hope that it gets over the hump. And then a few weeks later, its doing it again. Anyone know how to fix this?

It would be great if you could configure admin permissions for a group so that every admin you place in that group would have the same permissions, unless of course you wanted to change a specific admins permissions, in which case you could do it normally. It would make it so much easier for forums with alot of admins and save alot of time. Just a thought.
