Was curious if possible to revise the signature option so that when a user creates a signature it is added to his future posts and not posts prior to the signature creation? Or maybe an admin option to allow either or case? Thanks

Component's not being able to modify IPB's code

I've read where several IPS staff members have stated that their components are not allowed to modify IPB's code. May I ask why? In this post I'll talk about the gallery as it's the one I have the most experience with, but this pertains to any of the components. It can't be a matter of 'our customers may not have x component installed' because it's quite easy to detect if a component is installed. The whole idea of not integrating it within the board greatly reduces the usefulness of these components. I know that some people might not like the fact that I am going to suggest a new feature just because I saw it on another software, but it is a really cool idea and something I think forums will use. I am not sure what to call this feature, but basically when you post a topic it creates a meta tag based off the title of your post. Need help Renewing one of my old Licenses

First off sorry if this is the wrong forum. However I wasn't sure where to post this. I would like to renew one of my IP.Boards so that I can get upgrades for it and open a new site. As I have three of them (all expired) One of them is very much still active, the other two I'm merging together (even know the one has been closed for some time). I don't want to have to renew all three of them to get the one I want like I did last time. Its a waste of money on my part. I know some of those were already requested before but i just wanted to make sure. I hope that IPS staff takes the modification authors and contributers into consideration since they take a big part of IPS general successes. I mean they are the one who enhance the board further then what it's already have. So i was thinking of those to make 'our' (Modifications Authors) lifes easier and by that making yours (IPS's) easier. Suggestion #1: Online / Offline Status... Sure, there's a nice "Forum Led By:" showing us all the moderators. *BUT*, how about show their online status as well. ------ Suggestion #2: Show "Forum Led By:" moderators INSIDE the forum as well. In my opinion IPB should encode some of the source code to reduce piracy. You can never eliminate piracy, but you can certainly minimize it to a point where the company isn't loosing a major amount of money. A few suggestions: [*]Installer and SQL encoding - Require domain from IPS which license is intended to be installed on upon installation, easiser so IPS doesn't have to contact the majority of hosts to get the site shut down [*]Secondary Check - Embedded inside IPB that checks if the domain name is the same as the one on the IPS database every few days and will then report it to IPS. Has IPS ever considered having optional downloads of Ioncube encoded software without the huge folder of .so and .dll files for those of us who have Ioncube installed on our server? It would save both me and you bandwidth and means I don't have to remove the ioncube folder before uploading. Just a thought :cool:

Hi, I've been running into an issue with IP.Board 2.3.4, where the Post editor stops working when a rules/hints box above a subforum contains a HTML form. When you hit the Send button of the Post editor, the post will not be submitted, but the form in the hint box will get executed instead. Apparently, this problem is down to nested forms (something, which is not allowed, IIRC). I'm using the classical 2.2 skin, but this also applies to the new "Pro" skin. Amend users topic and forum subscriptions

I keep getting users complaining that they are receiving loads of email notifications. They subscribe to a topic and then can't find the setting in My Controls to unsubscribe. I think this highlights a couple of issues: 1) People subscribe to topics and then do not know how to manage their subscriptions and unsubscribe. Perhaps this needs to be looked at again to see how it can be made more user friendly. 2) The functionality to amend a users subscription is needed in the Admin CP. I have to keep fixing this for users even though I tell them how to cancel their subscriptions. I have to change the users password and then login as them which is far from ideal.

When I look up a member in the Admin screen (ACP Home > Member Management Home > Search Results > Edit Member) I would like to be able to see if the account is locked without going to the Managed Locked screen and scrolling through the list to find them. Perhaps a red message saying "This account is currently locked. Unlock"

Hello, im having alittle problem with IPB ver.2.3.0... i try to install it on my we site, i introduce all the info it asks me .... its all right ... i push the install button...it starts to install,everything's fine .. and then suddenly this error appears ... and after it the installation continues ... it finishes and gives me the link to my forum ... but when i press the link i get this : Fatal error: Call to undefined function: pagetop() in /home/www/leahupavel.freehostia.com/forum/sources/action_public/boards.php on line 93 Please help me solve this problem because i want to use IPB as my forum ... waiting for your answers ... thanks inj advance.
