Suggestion: admin CP access to user notifications

I know, it's been posted before :), but just wanted to add it again as a specific feature suggestion. There needs to be a way for admins to delete or edit the post and new topic notifications that users set up via the admin CP. Please consider for a future version..... Thanks!

[Suggestion] under validation notification

When someone is in the validating cycle, and tries to post, send a PM, login ... clearly show a message like "YOU HAVE NOT VALIDATED YET", check you email, spam folder etc. I am saying that because I get a lot of "I can not send post for some reason" and emails like this at my support email. thx

Why when I ignore some one does it disallow me to see their posts. I mean I am blocking them or at least thats the reason I did it. I still want to see their posts but not allow them to see mine or my profile for that matter. I mean I do not see what the point is of putting some one on ignore.

Is it possible to turn off user reset / resend password functions? Becuase we are using LDAP authentication, it will effect the users network access, allowing passwordchanges through IPB board.

My members sometimes get confused with the difference between COLOR (US spelling) and COLOUR (UK spelling) in formatting tags. It would be nice if in IPB 3.0 both worked.

Calender feature

It's fabulous in the calender that there is a way to view "This Month" and "This Week" it would be awesome if you could view whole months for certain time frames, like a year or whatnot. By this I mean that you can right now, only see a single month at a time so it would be awesome to view multiple months like "This Year" or "The next three months" etc.

Thanks for the recent work on the spamming issue, my boards have been spam free since the last upgrade but I knew they would get round the system sometime or another. The fact that IPS jumped on it needs to be commended. As with all things it may or may not work as we hope but at least you know if it doesn't they will still be on the case and not leaving you in the cold as can happen with so many software/products.

While pondering at what post count I get to change my IPS user title, I figured what if there where member updates. Like "Congratulations, Your account can now customize user titles", "Congratulations, your Account has been updated to VIP", and "Congratulations, your rank has been upgraded from noob, to member". Fades on screen below member bar in the yellow color such as the IPB 2.3.x news updates.

im not sure if this has been mentioned before but, i would like to see a setting that allows sertain BBcodes (e.g. bold, italic, color) in topic titles and maybe make it possible to set it to be allowed by sertain user groups only.. this feature would be fun for normal members (if allowed by settings) and sertainly be a nice addition for staff on your site to gain extra attention to topics and sertain details mentioned in a title also, some improved statistic options would be nice.. alot of boards implement a "users online today" mod and a board legend that shows the colors of the usergroups in their statistic area.. are there any extra additions being made to the s…

I thought of this some time ago. Forums these days have some really nice ways to ban and distrupt trouble users, but it's not perfect. Either these ideas: 1. Ban (or lock/suspend) user if they made x posts that are exactly the same (like one after another maybe). 2. Ban (or lock/suspend) user if they made x posts that have something in common (same images or certain words) one after another. I've seen this work on image board scripts. Some tries a raid and they get banned even if there aren't staff online.

Here's an idea for IPB 3.0: In addition to personal conversations (now PCs :P), it would be a great feature to have if users could instant message each other. When you click their profile or in the drop down menu in a post an "Instant Message *name here*" option comes up. If the user is online, then a box on the bottom of the screen opens up like gmail chat and the message is displayed. If the user is online but in a different window, either a sound could be made or a box opens up from the bottom right of the screen notifying the user of the incoming IM. When we get a email saying some one has replied to the thread, it gives not information as to which thread, untill the email is read. But VB emails describe the topic title in subject, it makes the subject data more meaningful and helpul. Why dont we rip this feature ?? :cool:
