I notice that on a members profile view, the number of topic and post lists are hard coded as the most recent 5. It would be good if this was instead parameter driven in the ACP.

On the forum homepage there is a 'Watched Content' widget. I will rarely 'watch' a forum, but do sometimes watch individual topics. How about this: If there are no watched forums, automatically display the watched 'topics' tab instead. I think having an option for the default tab is overkill, but this could be a good middle ground.

Posting here since the IPB 3 preview site is offline. Is it possible to turn off the ability for users/groups to invite other users into personal conversations (essentially making it like the PM system in 2.x)? (preferably a per-group option, "can invite other users to personal convos", or "# of users allowed to invite"). I didn't see it when I looked through the beta, but I could have overlooked it. I'm just curious, but my IPB support license needs to be renewed, expired yesterday. I still have an active IP.Blog license though. So, I'm just curious, I'm still in the Customers group, is this because I have IP.Blog? I though your account was dropped if IPB expired. And, if so, do I still get access to the IPB 3 pre-releases, or do I have to renew to see those? Just asking, as I don't have the money right now to renew my support.

Today I went trying to log into my account, mike@tubink.com, and apparently it was deleted as I can't log in with the right details. My last invoice number was "187187", and that was on November 22nd. However I was never notified of my account being missing and such. Does this mean I have to pay $150 AGAIN to use IP.Board?

There needs to be a way to moderate the calendar without having to look through every month to find some icon that shows a new event that needs to be approved. That is seriously weak. How about an event list of unapproved events in the admin front end, with the option to receive an email notice with a new event? Anything would be better almost.

Is there any new things in the works from IPS, I don't mean IPB.3 or other updated versions of current products ? Mainly I ask because I (and I'm sure others) would love a wiki system made by IPS. I know there is currently is a bridge that links IPB and media wiki, but my issue is I'm not really fond of how media wikis uses temples for page layouts. So... any plans on a wiki or other products?

I think "board hours" be a nice feature to include into IP.Board 3. A description of what I mean is that you could specify when you want your board to be open to the public and when you want it to be closed. It would be a good feature for private organizations and schools.

A lot of ppl are talking about vbb vs ipb, actually in the global envirement, the discuz should be included. Discuz doesn't have official english version which also doesn't mean it has less users and functions, discuz actually has much more users than any other forum applications in the past 5 years. What Discuz will do is to develop the php applications beyond the english world and release english version suddenly to beat the competitors into the hell. I can't say Discuz is better than IPB, but discuz develope very fast. I suggest IPS developers download Discuz products to see if there is anything better to learn. I know I can have options on a forum or a topic, to be notified if someone is posting there but maybe is a good idea to be notified if member X is posting on that board, does not matter where... maybe I like a member more , maybe he is a doctor and I wish to read all his posts, etc... for me would be important to know when that member make a new post there :) I suppose would be a good Idea that next version of IPB have such an option for members: to be notified with an email when an user is posting... it is obviously no one wish to be notified if that user is posting everyday, but sometimes, some user does not appear or post everyday... then , maybe an user wish …

I've searched and searched but can't find this idea addressed anywhere. On my forum we have a problem with lots of newcomers who jump right in with both feet without first aquainting themselves with the forum culture, or without first searching and reading any earlier discussions. It would be good if all newly validated accounts could be blocked from posting for a certain period of time, say 48 hours. This would force the member to spend some time reading before jumping in and posting. After 48 hours the account is automatically released.
