I'm sure this is already on the roadmap for IP.Board but I'll request it anyway... Basically the entire user cp needs to be simplified and the UI needs be improved. In this topic I'll talk about how I feel it should be simplified, setting wise. The user cp area is far too cluttered with too many options which is not very user friendly. In another topic, Charles mentioned that basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is required to use IPB software. As a new customer, I was not aware of these requirements, although luckily I can handle both. With this tidbit as an example, I would like to suggest a fundamental usability design technique to guide IPB development in general: User definition, profiles, and personas. IPB may have several user groups, such as "inexperienced forum admins," "experienced forum admins," and "developers." First of all, technically the Easy Logo Changer works very well -- thank you!! BUT -- it was only after a ticket to support that I found out there was such a thing as "the Graphics Development Kit, which is available for download in your client area." Without the Graphics Development Kit, it takes many, many trials to create a logo that fits the space. Because I didn't have the graduated blue background swatch, what I had to do was to take a screenshot of the graduated blue bar and superimpose my logo on it. (A gif with transparent background looked terrible.) I couldn't get the top bar to match in color, so it still doesn't fit properly in the space. This took hours…

One thing I always do when I upgrade my apps that have Report Center plugins is to upgrade the version of the plugin in the rc_classes table. I have to do this manually in the mysql_updates.php file for that version. Many times, upgrading this plugin's version is the only thing I need to do for that version update. Is there any chance the application upgrader can take care of this automatically instead of having to update this manually. To go along with this, I see that IP.Board and its apps do not ever update this value. I don't think this is correct. If for example I am sending a pm and then I realize I want to underline a word, of course I cannot do it unless I use the full editor. So I press to switch to full editor but then the words I have already written disappear and I have to start all over again in the full editor. Is there a way to keep the words you have already written in a pm when you switch to the full editor? (apart from copy and paste of course!)

I think that such an addition would be a handy option and it will make for a more organized system to keep all the custom css edits/coded added to the forum in one single place, separated by the other css template files. What do you guys think about it?

1.select forum language - as you might know,many of ipb customers has sub forums for different languages and right now we are only able to choose forum skin but not the language that will be used on that specific forum. 2.group administrator - allow specific user to manage a group without having permissions to acp or mod cp - adding,deleting members from his group. I believe it can help a lot to forum managing as having permissions would be much better then protecting forum with passwords. 3.Limit amount of members in a specific group

This may not be for everyone, but I know it would be great for us. If we could have the option to turn OFF the tabs that appear after a search (for Forums, Blogs, Articles, Etc) and just show ALL RESULTS in one list....along with an icon than identifies them as a blog entry, forum post, etc. This would be ideal for us. All of the forums we run are used to vbulletin and that's how they do it. Users arent going to click on those tabs after a search, or after using VNC, so I would love to just show them all matching content at once. Thoughts?

Hello there, I was under the impression IPB's search features would be up to part with Google, so I must be missing something. Can anyone point me to any information on how to improve IPB search results? While all the new features look great and all, have there been changes made to make IP.Board preform and run faster? Compared to most forum softwares like xf, mybb, smf, IPB tends to be the slower loading competitor.

It would be nice to have auto prune feature for soft delete and unapproved posts/topics after few days. If they can be auto moved to trash can, it would be nice. After 30 days or so, soft delete or unapproved post gets auto moved to trash can. It will help to keep forums clean. If this could be added in any future release, it would be great.

Now that IPS has announced some nice changes to the look and feel of ACP... I wrote this elsewhere, particularly with IP.Nexus and the need to have different members of staff deal with different roles, like manage payments and orders, but not have access to system settings in ACP. The current ACP restrictions are not really ideal, as the whole ACP is still visible, but results in error when users try to access a restricted place. Please design the ACP Restrictions, so that restricted areas are not visible. This allows you to make a "ACP module" for different staff members. I brought this up in a ticket, and although I understand some of the potential complexities of doing so. I think it would be a great way to increase the use for those of us who host sites to have the IPS Spam Service made as an API that could be tied into cpanel,apache etc. (The API could be set to accept the request from a specific IP and only if the API Key is still valid which would require an active IP Board License) Also, as a possible feature wrapped into IP Board it would be nice to have the option to just drop the Registration with an error like "Sorry we are unable to register you, please try again later or contact the board owner"

Let's say I have various calendars. The default calendar is important for my community. The others are just information of other interesting events. I would ONLY like to show the default community calendar on the "Upcoming Calendar Events" of main forum page. How do I disable a specific calendar from showing in Upcoming Calendar Events?
