Over 300 tasks backlogged now. Not sure if I should be shutting the forums down while I wait, or .... Now is when I wish there was a paid support option.

Just look yourself up in AdminCP like any other member. You can then click the little Pencil next to your display name.

You are going around in circles with support. They've clearly told you that you need to provide specific information from the server logs - indicating what is going wrong or being reported when that CPU hits 100%. There is an error on your server or with the installation causing this - Invision wants to know what that is in order to help you further. Why not link your hosts to this thread so they can see what is being asked for?

v4.7.1 - have not upgraded as yet due to so many reports of apps and plugins not yet compatible and getting locked. But for 24 hours, my queue task has been locked and background processes are all queuing up. When I click Run Now, I get "The task is already running and cannot be ran until it has finished or the lock is removed." If I remove the lock, on its next scheduled run, it just locks again. The only thing I can think of that triggered this was I attempted to move around 20,000 members from one usergroup to another, and in the task list that is currently sitting at 1.6% (after 24 hours), but surely other background processes can run simultaneously?

Depending on the size of your community, and of course your hosting/smtp configuration - you might want to investigate offloading your mail handling to a service such as Sendgrid. We have over 150,000 active members and our email sending via our own server was stalling, as well as always getting blacklisted and bad sender rep. Since migrating to Sendgrid we have instant email notifications with almost no delay, 99%+ deliverability, and never get blacklisted. One of the best "upgrades" we have made. -

A small bug. When you change the settings under Display, for example, toggle off Hide IGNORED TOPICS on forum view, then click save. It does not save or remember the setting. 4.7 / php7.4

For future reference, with this information provided by Invision, I have implemented a local installation (not Bonsai) of Elasticsearch and can confirm the original issue is now resolved. Thanks @Matt/ @Marc Stridgen.

Thanks for the update. In that case, Bonsai is not suitable for an Elasticsearch/Invision integration as you've discovered (on anything less than their $700/month plans). Going direct with Elasticsearch Cloud, they don't seem to have a version that is supported by Invision: What is Invision's advice here when it comes to integrating with Elasticsearch please?

I can highly recommend Sendgrid. We have 130,000 (active) members, and nearly 6 million posts. Email was flaky at best for password reminders, email account validations, and notifications. Switching to Sendgrid was one of the best things we have done for reliable deliverability and sender reputation. We just don't get blacklisted any more either.

I appreciate that, I really do. Can we enable 2FA and have the developers activate it when they log in? It leaves a site vulnerable for an extended unknown amount of time that's all.

My use case is exactly the same. I only want reviews to be available for Commercial Members usergroup, and then I would also be happy to pay for this app.

ElasticSearch Time Decay Settings?

Somehow I lost the default settings for Time Decay when using ElasticSearch (and there's no revert option). Could anyone share the best settings for a large community please?

Good idea, I'm still a few plugins/apps off being updated so I can upgrade to 4.7 yet. Hopefully soon 🙂
