  1. Example of hashtags in action: https://www.breatheheavy.com/exhale/index.php?/forums/topic/779122-lady-gaga-has-plans-to-finish-her-sophie-chromatica-tracks-and-release-them/
  2. Installed on my forum and working thus far! Huge thank you @Adrian A. for believing in this idea and creating the application. Looking forward to seeing how members react, as well as the future update for trending topics. Thank you thank you.
  3. I use SendGrid as well 🙂 What do you mean hotmail does not work? The only problem I have with SendGrid is the unsubscribe link. They can't seem to center it, and I can't figure out a way to manually insert in my email templates in my IPB admin panel.
  4. LOVE this idea. Stories on our forum! Omg why didn't I think of this. This would be SO cool. I bet it can even be done without the app. Members can upload stories to the forum, which display for members who follow one another. It's yet another effective component of social media that should be integrated into IPB to encourage members to stay on/engage in forums more than social media. It's also a compelling way for members to follow one another. @opentype
  5. Would love to have a sticky sidebar option. Does this exist yet? 😃
  6. Hey team, I was thinking... it'd be cool to also implement a way to embed Insta-stories. They are just as (if not more) important than posts that appear on peoples' feeds. Example: https://www.instagram.com/stories/breatheheavycom/2328521110211447484/ Just my two cents 🙂
  7. TBH I really like them. They're always super responsive to my questions, they offer online webinars for publishers, great reporting tools etc. I can't speak to whether I make more with them or not because the ad trends in the market right now are down and I switched to them in January. Overall I like em.
  8. Interesting. Ezoic is the ad company that also offers a CDN. I also have Sucuri, but even I'm unclear why it's needed if I'm using Ezoic. Let me reach out to them. Thank you! Thanks so much for the reply and helping me with this. Do you recommend I reach out to my server manager? I'm a little confused as to where to even begin heh. 🙏
  9. I have Ezoic, too, and I am trying to figure out the best ways to optimize for speed. Check this out. Would love your input!
  10. Just tested it myself and it works great. Thank you again @A Zayed
  11. You rock!!! Thanks so much for taking this suggestion seriously and making this community and software even better. 🙏
  12. Oh?! We need it baaaack! 💯 🙏
  13. Thank you! Is there someone you could possibly recommend to help me with this? I wish I were more savvy in this area.
  14. Hey team, Like everyone, I want my forum to load as fast as possible. My page speed score is a D, according to Pingdom. The ads are to blame, but unfortunately I can't really see a way to get around that entirely. I won't get into how frustrating it is that UX is compromised to earn revenue and how backwards that is. My website's CDN is integrated using the ad company I use, Ezoic. It did improve site speed, but I'm not satisfied with a D rating. They also have something called a Site Speed Accelerator, which is their advanced caching tool. It's pretty powerful. https://www.ezoic.com/site-speed/ However, when we enabled it, my forum ran into all kinds of problems. For instance, people could no longer submit replies in a topic. Javascript functions stopped working, like opening a navigation menu. They don't have many clients who use IPB, so they aren't 100% sure how to proceed. That's why I'm here. It's important to me to 1.) Improve my site speed and 2.) share that knowledge here so others can improve their site, too. Here's what they last said to me. They encouraged me to come here to get more information. 🙏 Wondering what some of you do to drastically improve performance. I want an A rating if at all possible! Wondering... what is the best route for me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hi there, I think it'd be cool to have a "test" send button when sending bulk emails. I test my emails by creating a unique group, then creating a new member using one of my email addresses, then sending it to that group. Would be awesome if there was a "send test" button that sent your email to an email address you specify instead. Hope that makes sense. Just a thought 🙂
  16. Hi there, I've had several members reach out and ask why there isn't a "save as draft" feature for topics. It's a good question to be honest. Some members want to put together a long, thoughtful topic about an anniversary for something coming up, for example, but they have to do it in Google docs. It's a little bit of a hassle. It'd be great if members could save drafts before publishing. Thoughts?
  17. Lmao. Is it possible to set it so members can't react to their own pms?
  18. Cool cool. I posted it there. Thank you.
  19. Hello, I was advised to move my hashtags topic to this section. For more information please visit its original topic 🙏
  20. Love you @opentype but I am going to respectfully disagree. Hashtags and popular topics are not one in the same. Hashtags can be used in multiple topics and married together through a hashtag. If members use the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter in 50 topics/comments this week, then their topics/comments relate to one another. Then, we can feature that hashtag on the homepage to show people are using it more frequently than any other hashtag. We want people to move off of social media to our forums, but it appears there's resistance to adopt some of the behaviors that are wildly popular on social media, like hashtags. Entire campaigns for years often center around a hashtag, and while there is a tagging feature in IPB, it's not widely recognizable like a hashtag is. Nor is it possible to use a tag in a comment. "Twitter consists of millions of unrelated text snippets per day." Yes, but there's also millions that are related. "All they would do is decrease the readability of the posts." Also disagree. They would be a powerful feature for members to connect with one another through the use of a hashtag. My members use the @ tag feature all the time. I know they would be frequently using the hashtags feature as well if it existed. I know most people don't believe in this idea, but I guarantee it would be a widely purchased/downloaded application across the marketplace.
  21. Appreciate the feedback. 🙏 What's your advice to get peoples' attention to this?
