  1. Dear support folks. Since last week our community has about 2 to 4 minutes of lag time loading about every 10 to 15 minutes sometimes it never loads. Also we noticed that some topics and posts can't be "reacted" with, we get this error:

    Capture.PNG.855f944030d544a075f7c54d212c7a06.PNG

I contacted our hosting service and here is what they found. And it's kind of over my head at this point. The last paragraph is funny because I had provided that information before, and that is how I got this reply.

    Hello again,

I apologize for any and all inconvenience. Though some issues may require a developer to fix, we'll be happy to take a look!

There appear to be quite a few hits to CPU & I/O which could cause a slow down on the websites on the hosting account. They appear to be coming from the primary domain's ~/public_html/index.php file. With most CMS systems, nearly all scripts/processes are funneled through index.php including any extensions and themes, so it can be difficult to narrow down where it's coming from. More information can be found inside cPanel > METRICS > Resource Usage > Details and Snapshots. There were quite a bit of processes occurring at the same time during the momentary spikes.

    Per Resource Usage:
You have reached the limits within the past 24 hours
You have reached the entry processes (the number of simultaneously running PHP and CGI scripts, as well as cron jobs and shell sessions) limit 68 times
I/O usage resources limit was reached for your site

If you notice a specific event or action taken that may be causing the noticeable lag, please provide detailed step-by-step directions on how we may duplicate the issue including full error texts, related URLs, and any required credentials. We will not be as familiar with your website/application as you are so the more detail provided the better we may investigate.

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated folks!

PS, I did delete the cron job they were referring too and found nothing changed.

  2. Yes! This can be somewhat frustrating, because as you create the goals, they start stacking up on each other on the same page and confusing members who want to donate to a specific goal. I'd like it too if we could create one goal at a time, and have just that one goal appear on the donation page, and at the same time, preserve the goals from the past.

  3. Hello folks, this seems like such a basic function, I am using 4.5.4 and I was wondering is there anything I can do so that when a member clicks on a topic, they are taken to the first unread post since their last visit? Or is there an inline button somewhere that can be added inside of each post perhaps at the bottom of the post reading panel so when it's clicked on it shoots you to the first unread post? Thank you!

  4. @Jamer.

My Twitter everything is working now. I had to go into the old link https://apps.twitter.com/ and delete my apps, then reapply for a developer account, the apps.twitter is no longer being used by twitter, once you delete your apps, and try to create a new app, you'll be prompted to apply for a developer account. The new developer accounts are now at https://developer.twitter.com/en/apps

Once you create your apps in the developer account, you should be fine. My issue was the old apps.twitter was not accepting the call back url provided in my ACP for Twitter login method.

This may have to be updated in the user manual at

    Hope this helps

I just checked, also with Moby Dick, and it should work fine.

If you send me a link + test account to your forum I can try to figure out what's going wrong.

Sorry I missed this answer batarjal, my notifications aren't coming through. I will send you a test link test account asap, thanks for reaching back out to me!

  6. Good day, does this app work anymore? I purchased it May and had good luck with it on our test site, I revisited the app as I am ready to go live with it, and it no longer works. It does not recognize any book, I have Goodreads API enabled, I had Google Books API enabled until I read the report above and I removed the API for Google but still no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

This could be done sort of easily if you add a new "Address" field to your database. I could then expand on the existing Calendar feature to also look up articles that are geolocated. Let me know if this is doable for you.

Martin, that is an awesome idea, that could work, what will it take? If there is funding involved, and if I can pay the bill, I'd like it released out to the community to go with your already free mapping app, in the spirit of Open Source. Thanks for your reply Martin.

  8. Dear dev, would you consider adding geolocation functions for articles? Such as an article about a town in France, is geolocated on a map, and the article title is represented by a pinpoint, when the pin is clicked on, a small box with a an article preview appears, then the user clicks on the box and is taken to the article.

This could be in addition to your already awesome mapping function, and would probably have to be a paid feature as I can only imagine the dev that would have to go into that.

Here is an example in our wiki that I am speaking of, click on a pin, and click on the name.

  9. IPS Version 4.3.6

Good day Zayed, it appears that our profile fields are overflowing data when clicked on.

If you will go to one discussion in our forum at https://thepatriotwoodworker.com/forums/topic/24365-new-member-intro/

And click on several of the profile fields, specifically member "Woodbutcherby..." you'll see the issue we are experiencing now, I don't know what caused this or why, it may be a theme conflict? Thank you for any help!

    John

PS, it does appear that it works fine with IPS default theme. But it conflicts with my IPS Focus Theme. hmmm.

  10. Open,

Seems my SuperGrid in Record View is not working anymore, as far as the nice offset is concerned, where the body of the page content overlays onto the header image. Can you please see this link at https://thepatriotwoodworker.com/administrative_topics/who-we-are-r1/

You'll see the header sitting atop the article content instead of the content overlaying the bottom portion of the header image. Thanks for any direction on this.

    John

  11. Thank you much Taman, before I pull the big lever for purchase, one last question, I know the docs mentioned it, but I just want to make sure, I only want the slider to appear on one single page in our community, can I configure it for that purpose? Thanks again.

    Sorry, Not possible.

you can add a link along with the editor as a button like this for example

    <a class="ta_sliderButton" href="LINK HERE">Buy now<i class="fa fa-arrow-right" aria-hidden="true"></i></a>

Well I think that would work for my purposes, so there is an option for a button to display in each slider, for example a button could be titled "Widget Forums" within the slider image, and the user clicks the button and is directed to "Widget Forums".  Correct?
