NZyan got a reaction from sobrenome in What's New in Gallery?
I also would like to have the start page with more configuration options.
For one of my communities one of the biggest thing is the „new images“ feature.
The old gallery had the option to click through the newest images in a lightbox.
One of the problems: It was limited to 30 images (hardcoded) which I had to change after each update to a higher number.
The new gallery has a similar feature on the start page (great!) with some disadvantages:
Embedded in the layout – no Lightbox or page without other elements Limited to the first five (5) images. Can you please provide a solution (of plugin) with a dedicated big „new images“ display without distracting elements – with a customizable number of new images?
    Thanks!
    Andreas

@Matt Ya something like that, in the other Gallery 2, 3, and 5 had nice front-page options that have been pulled out and/or changed. Having something similar would fit more styles for owners. But also having something type of template in Pages for Gallery may do it as well maybe. There are a few ideas on how this could be done. But having some options out of the box would assist in that as well. The front pages of Galleries 2, 3, and 5 are a great ways to see how things were put out back then that made Gallery not so static as it is now for a front page.

Yes - that. Getting excited and getting sad in a matter of minutes... Please label clearly if it for cloud only so it can be immediately understood.

Why don't you use a pre-fix with the title like: [Cloud Only] New Live Community Features!
Save all us self-hosters some time in our day...

So you can't get this unless you are spending $549 per month? That's a bit rediculous. I'm ok not having this, not a game changer.

Interesting article but I think there needs to be a better way to call attention WHO a feature is applicable to or perhaps the blogs should be split between self hosting or Cloud or Business & Corporate/Enterprise plans.
Landed on this page and saw the minimum version 4.7.0 - figured that was me started scrolling and didn't read the first paragraph and get to the part to go to your ACP and nothing...
Perhaps your Version numbers should include a suffix:
4.7.0 Corporate/Enterprise 4.7.0 Business 4.7.0 Creator 4.7.0 Creator Pro 4.7.0 Self-Hosted 4.7.0 Platform ( all clients )  It has to be in the headline so we know the target audience. 🙂

You can create a moderator that is a group and switch off everything except this permission. We felt it was better as a team tool than a user tool though.

This is a bit of a slap in the face to self hosted clients. Nothing to celebrate here. 👎

    That's awesome indeed!
I'm unsure about the meaning of this sentence "available for Cloud and Enterprise Community customers exclusively".
Arent the vast majority of ipb license holders non cloud or enterprise customers?

I think that’s key here. Some tinker with a forum while others run them like a business. I invest in the software, apps, hardware, etc., as a business and not for fun. If I wasn’t making money, I would find a better use of my time.

@Jordan Invision, first off, thanks for responding and taking into account what you call the "justifiable outrage" here.  For the record, I myself don't feel "outrage" so much as a bit of anxiety that this is the beginning of a larger trend, under the rubric of "business decisions," to exclude self-hosted clients - not so much from core apps, but from key improvements and developments that keep the suite attuned to the evolving needs of communities.  Tell me I'm wrong, because this isn't something I particularly want to be right about!
So I'm somewhat disappointed: I understand the necessity of "business decisions," but as a long-term customer I can say that I've been waiting for something like this for quite some time since Kevin Carwile's unannounced and profoundly disappointing abandonment of his apps.  Not to say I know what's best for Invision of course, and I get the appeal of outsourcing, but speaking as a customer I can't help but think that this particular aspect of gamification really is not something which should be outsourced, or should only be outsourced in the short term.
In the longer term, I suspect it may be a far more powerful selling point to be able to have (and advertise) it as a native feature, which would ensure its development in step with the Invision suite so that key parts of the CMS aren't beholden to a third-party company for whom Invision is just one of many clients.  I don't know the CMS market, but I ask the question out loud: could this put Invision in a unique position, having inbuilt gamification and triggers/actions?  I realise it isn't something you can just add to Invision overnight and that it would take extensive development, testing, troubleshooting etc., but I (and I think others here) believe that it would be well worth it in the long term.
Anyway, just my two cents.  I'm still here until they kick me out of the place!
EDIT: upon thinking this over, I want to ask if I'm talking about two different things?  Is Zapier Invision's answer to a point-system style "gamification," or is this separate from Zapier?

I can’t promise that it will be interesting for everybody, but there were some huge improvements in the background which should make it easier.

Indeed. Only the available Zapier integrations and your imagination are the limit.
It‘s also going to open another level of integrations via the available webhook Zapier integration 🥰

As Charles said, once we gauge interest, we can look at other social networks. I wrote the system to allow you to drop in a new class and it can then be used.
Great feature suggestion. Right now it's locked to one Facebook page and one Twitter account, but I like this idea for the future.

This is fantastic! Great job, guys!
Will we have the ability to post to multiple sources (such as multiple FaceBook Pages or Twitter accounts) or are we limited to one page per each social media service?
Some of our content is relevant to our other communities, so it would be helpful to cross-promote.
