  1. Cloud isn't an option for everyone @Matt, I believe many users will tell you that. Therefore a way to flag dead email accounts on regular basis would be very handy for "classic hosting" users 😉
  2. Also, forums constantly sends notifications, they could be used to regularly maintain dead emails and mark account/email as "NO_SEND" upon x fails. IPS should consider this type of tools as built-in. This way they can save our money being spent on external services. This way we are willing to pay more for IPS subscriptions as we do not have to spend on something else. The more we are pushed away from IPS software to any external ones the less reasonable all this becomes.
  3. Even that, despite I would pre-sort it, such would need to be flagged on regular basis, e.g. when I send Bulk main trough IPS, the system should flag those that bounced back.
  4. Hi IPS, Can you implement a mechanism that would periodically check if emails the accounts are registered on still exist, are still valid or not blocked? Would be great to reduce a bounce back rate. Such user would be marked automatically by notifications system and bulk mail system as "DO NTO SEND".
  5. I think this type of forums should start being natively supported by IPS. Why? because forum platforms are moving to the direction of death. This way we can keep a sync between what is in forums and Discord (that is currently on top). Whatever asked in Discord, stays in forum as content easy searchable for new comers.. and vice-versa. However, if posted in Discord only it becomes useless as nobody searches past history if Discord.
  6. Hi, Consider adding new forum type that would be fully synced Discord <-> IPB both ways, as Discord recently added forum type channels. That would be great to keep forum alive a bit and still synced with Discord: https://discord.com/blog/forum-channels-space-for-organized-conversation
  7. Hi, Revolut becoming very popular way of getting pay. It is beating alternative for PayPal in aspect of fees while keeping even better Customer experience because it is very simple way of paying. While PayPal is only financial institution, Revolut is a bank already, so you have real bank account that allows you to take card payments, wired payments, payments on @nickname, or payment for mobile number. It is a way quicker than PayPal and way more modern for now days. IPS, @Matt, @Lindy, please consider a gateway for Revolut Pay: https://developer.revolut.com/
  8. @Afrodude If no one can understand you then your final call is @Matt Telling you that after 10 years of experience with IPS 😄
  9. Case is that PayPal changes and becomes more strict, especially in Europe, mostly because law changes and becomes more strict in this area, therefore from seller's aspect it is best all data matches, or it is more clear from outside view. otherwise it is always a risk PayPal guy will have a good day or not, good understanding of provided evidence or will resolve in favor of Buyer because of having such a will.
  10. All actions like downloading the files etc are done from account A, where payments are done from account B - alternative contact. When I provide evidence to PayPal to prove that files were downloaded etc, they ignore it because name of payer and downloader do not match. I win all cases where junk buyer is involved except those where alternative contacts present. For now I think I will simply redirect the alternative contact page, however you could consider better design of the ACP details in this area, so we can somehow connect the information together and make it clear to third party person (e.g. PayPal) that all these are associated. I also talk about fact you display only nickname for specific area and not include customer name too.
  11. @Marc Stridgen, Unfortunately, PayPal in Europe is very strict if comes to this type of cases. Here is your proof for that: https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/PAYPAL_HELP_GUIDE/what-documents-to-provide-for-a-case-in-your-resolution-center-icf32 Unfortunately, I cannot find that article in English: it says the following: "Service/Virtual Item: Evidence must be associated with the buyer (i.e. name, address, email address, PayPal Transaction ID or other identifier we may find in the transaction information, such as invoice ID)." Following the above, we noticed PayPal is ignoring member's history too because it is displayed for member display name instead customer's name. Tiny things but may vary in PayPal resolution.
  12. Hello, We found that alternative contacts are being abused, at least with use of PayPal. Scenario, Buyer A assigns alternative contact to his account to manage a product. Renewals of the product are being paid by alternative contact. Continues to use subscription based product until decides to get his money back. Opens charge-back in PayPal and at the moment such junk buyer is won because payer details do not match customer details on our end/customer card/acp. PayPal resolves such in favor of such junk buyer already second time where all other disputes filled on buyer's name are won by us. Any way to disable alternative contacts now?
  13. Report: Just to report you that when trying to push status update there is an error and status not being pushed to discord channel. BadMethodCallException: (0) #0 /applications/brilliantdiscord/sources/Notification/Notification.php(325): IPS\Content\_Item->container() #1 /applications/brilliantdiscord/sources/Notification/Notification.php(479): IPS\brilliantdiscord\_Notification->contentApplies() #2 /init.php(932) : eval()'d code(22): IPS\brilliantdiscord\_Notification::parseContent() #3 /system/Content/Item.php(463): IPS\Content\brilliantdiscord_hook_contentNotifications->processAfterCreate() #4 /applications/core/sources/Statuses/Status.php(448): IPS\Content\_Item::createFromForm() #5 /applications/core/modules/front/members/profile.php(286): IPS\core\Statuses\_Status::createFromForm() #6 /system/Dispatcher/Controller.php(118): IPS\core\modules\front\members\_profile->manage() #7 /applications/core/modules/front/members/profile.php(81): IPS\Dispatcher\_Controller->execute() #8 /system/Dispatcher/Dispatcher.php(153): IPS\core\modules\front\members\_profile->execute() #9 /index.php(13): IPS\_Dispatcher->run() #10 {main} #0 /public_html/init.php(1034): IPS\_Log::log() #1 [internal function]: IPS\IPS::exceptionHandler() #2 {main} I try to post new status in my front end profile.
  14. Could you please improve Popular, Latest filters to do not include ideas of completed status? It will give better experience while listing and reviewing ideas. Then, create new filter for Refused ideas and same, do not include Refused in popular and latest.
  15. Hi, In commerce, a support ticket having supporter assigned get the association lost upon reply. This is unwanted behavior as association should be removed manually, not cleared upon first reply.
  16. There you go with ready fix for record display template in Pages <article class='ipsContained ipsSpacer_top ipsBox ipsResponsive_pull'> change to <article class='ipsType_richText ipsContained ipsSpacer_top ipsBox ipsResponsive_pull'>
  17. I got lost in this topic. So what is already determined issue here? As I am thinking whether to upgrade to 4.7.7 or not - as my community is highly based on pages app.
  18. @Day_IPS wants to stay on the bright side of the..
  19. Yeah, it makes me surprised too, why it is taking so much time to IPS, entire world is DARK already.
  20. You did not get me. Possibly upgrade to CKE5 will require update of every app that uses current editor because core design of CKE5 changed completely. So, if you use 100 custom apps using the current editor you will likely need to update all of the 100 apps what in result is equal to animated presentation I posted 😄
  21. Streams are great addition for users who want to have a control of what is happening around community, however, they provide sort of misleading info and cause sort of "mess" in certain situations. Lets say I edited a post, or need to update number of posts/topics/records.. anything.. e.g. during maintenance, some changes etc. What users get in their stream feed then? They get updated topics/records as newly posted content.. at least in the stream info. I find it as stream design issue because provides misleading info. There is few ways you can sort it. E.g. Change text from "xxx posted a topic" to xxx modified/updated the topic", or/additionally add a filter to display only newly posted content and not updated one. What I am trying to say here is that regular user does not have to see in his stream that admin/mod edited selection of topics/records because needed e.g. edit/modify tags. Stream lists such scenarios as XXXX posted new topic/record.
  22. From what I hear from my USA friends, there is no more thing as American Dream. It is nearly impossible to get to the top (getting rich) from the bottom as in past. From what I have been told, USA became a country for already rich people. That means you had a fail on designing the product/service model, as you did not consider this. I believe that amount of work required to make it work now may be huge, therefore costs. I believe that minimum 80% of self-hosted solutions would get such service, as they would be forced to by needs of current market/communities.
  23. You must understand it is a beginning of time of end of regular forums life. Any company nowadays, I would like to say "wants to" but it is rather "is forced to" go into your independence and slowly take pieces of it away - doesn't it sound like "Government"? 😅 This happens by building subscription based platforms/apps where you can only pay to use some service. If IPS won't be doing that then I assume they would close in not longer than 10 years from now. This is because of apps like Discord, platforms like TikTok that took over all the rest, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, that also create a space for communities, discussions, etc. Current population wants quick and rich content without minimum effort requiring using their brain. So, what you see is a process of transforming IPS into platform based service only. One day, very likely, they will stop selling self-hosted solutions - unfortunately. However, for IPS, I see a possibility to gather extra money from existing self hosting solution. Making a bridge/connection to cloud services and allow them to use on self-hosted solution on subscription basis, cuz why not? Any extra money are good money.
  24. And now realize amount of work custom app/plugins developers will have upon the change.. and below is presentation of a speed at which money will fly away from your pockets 😄
  25. Hi, As per title, sometimes we want to post several videos in one post. Doing that in, when the embed previous is so large as currently makes it look bad. It would be worth to allow to resize it, as as images.
