  1. sorry guys, i haven't had much time lately. personal life things. My twin sister had an emergency surgery and was staying with her to help her out till her husband got home. I just got back to my home today (back to civilization, my sister lives in the buttcrack of the midwest, in a town that has more cows than people and i'm pretty sure the town's welcoming sign's population count was approaching negative). I should take pictures of where she lives, its insane how isolated you are, but her street looks like a suburban street, with lights, road signs, crosswalks, sidewalks, but her house is the only one there, the rest is all farmland. its pretty wild. anyway, her internet is from like 1998 and the fastest i was able to connect to at any time was about 1mbps, it took 12 minutes to load up a 4 minute 480p youtube video. so i'm back at my house, with my 1 gigabyte connection.

give me a few days and everything should be back on schedule with the 4.4 updates. @SJ77 if you are getting PM's, it means its detecting you using an alt account. if you want admins/moderators to be excluded, in the apps settings, just select which groups to be excluded. if you want individual members to be excluded, you can go to their member's form in the ACP and go to the duplicate members tab and tell it to exclude them. if you've already done those things, let me know, i'll check to see what the problem is.

IPB just came out with 4.4.0 less than a month ago sorry wrong version of what I said early.  I wanted to see if Keyword Tooltips 3.1.5 will be updated to work with the newest release due to some structure changes because of the update IPB did. Current it only supports Compatibility 4.3.

yes, my paid apps will have 4.4 compatible versions rolled out for them, including keywords.

Will Keyword Tooltips be supported for IPB 4.1.1?

the current version? i am not entirely sure if the current would, one of the older versions will as i'm pretty sure i came out with it when 4.0 first came out, but those versions aren't supported any longer.

It would be so super wonderful if you were able to keep it, whether free or paid. It really does make such a difference, turning the normally boring avatars into graded ones with lovely colours (that somehow seem to blend in well with my forum colours). A few of my members have also had fun with creating their own. It's a big app and it always surprised me that it was free for such an app (these days, anyway!).

I released it free as an experiment into "donationware", to see if it was a viable option for the market.

I saw the EOL for Babble Self-Hosted sites.

Does the Babble Chat Service integrate with the IPS site, as it did with self-hosted app, and conform to the themes?

Will users be able to access the chat from the website or will they access it from a separate URL?

I've been rethinking the EOL of the self hosted, i will prolly end up keeping it around, but it will prolly be in a more "raw" state than it is now (for v3), as i wont be selling any additional access to the self hosted (and the number of self hosted is considerable small, compared to what it was before the service).

the chat service version and self hosted version are identical in functionality and look. the differences are all backend, the chat service connects to chat service vs your own node.js.

your users would more than likely not notice any differences, unless they like watching their network traffic like a hawk.

I guess that means Names 2 Avatars won't be updated... 😭

I don't suppose you'd maybe make it a paid app? I'd be happy to pay for it if it meant it could continue.

if i have time, i will consider keeping this one, as i've had a lot of fun making it. not sure how well received it would be turning it into a paid app from a free one (as that has usually been a bit disastrous for dev's who have)

    Duplicate Member Logger request:

Did a search and didn't see this but would like the ability to have the app create a thread in a specific forum so mods can see a list of the guilty user and his Alt ID. Unless I am missing something only admins can view this ?

Moderators can too, there is a section in the MODCP that they can access to view the list (it looks a bit different from the ACP one, but contains all the same information and abilities)

    @CodingJungle

Upon testing, this does not work at all. The duplicates show up in IPS' built in device duplicate checker in the ACP, but not in your add-ons logs... nor is the automatic PM sent. I would like a fix or refund please.

Since it is working on a few of my private sites, I'm gonna need a bit of info from you to see what the problem is and why it is not working.

are you on IPS 4.3 or did you upgrade to the beta?

are there any error logs in System->support->system logs? or anything in your php error logs from your sever?

feel free to PM me this information, so i can take a look at it.

Forgive me, but I'm a little confused here... What does the Keyword page, with the A-Z tabs do? Might there be a demo somewhere for it, or might another user be willing to give a link to their forum with Keywords on it, so's I can see how that page works?

Not necessarily, the Keywords app might still be useful, whether as a replacement for IPS's acronyms feature or not  especially if it can show keywords on mobiles, being as IPS's acronym feature doesn't.

i would have to double check, but i'm pretty sure they will activate on mobile (they just turn themselves into clicks instead of hover, as it users the hovercard feature in IPS 4).

send me a PM, i can set you up a demo on my site this weekend to have you test it out. give you a little private area over there to play around with it.

    Babble support clubs?

Each clubs can have their chat room

yes, babble supports clubs. the club rooms will only be accessible from inside the club, but the regular rooms will be accessible from there as well.

    Keyword Tooltip

I've just noticed that you want to use a single thread to support all of your apps. I've already a separate support request for the keyword application.

I'm afraid that I can't get it to work. I've installed it and I've configured the members groups – so that the administrators have access to everything – but I'm still not seeing a keywords tab at the top of the forum as in your video.

I suppose I'm seeing something wrong – but I don't know what. I'm using your latest version of the application and I'm using a brand-new test installation of Invision.

    Please can you help.

I've replied over on my site to your issue.

How does the Keyword (index) page work? Do the A-Z tabs list by keyword or by topic title; or, can you sort by keyword?

when you first go to the page, it will list all of them, in order of when they were added (i'm almost certain of that, but it might be alphabetical, been awhile since i looked at the code).

when you click on any of the entities in the filter bar (letters/numbers/symbols will show in this, so if it is showing, it exists, if it doesn't show, it doesn't exists). you can sort by last update/title/start date(creation date) and most views.

    23 hours ago, Millipede said:

If it can list/sort by keyword, it could would mean that people could use the Keyword page to search through them for those 3-letter words/acronyms? As an example (not my subject matter), by going to the C tab, it would show topics that contain the keyword "CSS".

the system unfortunately doesn't store keywords info like this. it doesn't know where a keyword is used.

    23 hours ago, Millipede said:

Can you set case sensitivity, so that it doesn't confuse an acronym with a dictionary word, such as "ON", or is that what the Keyword Alias is for? This works fine with IPS's Acronym Expansion when it's marked as case sensitive (ie, in capitals).

yes keywords can be set to be sensitive or insensitive. so it would be able to tell the difference between ON and on and On.

sounds like you are looking for a bit different system, with the ability to track where the keyword is used, maybe like an advanced tags or hashtag system of some kind.

    Menu Groups Manager

If one’s using two menus, and has “Remove Primary” in the settings, is there a way to add the 2nd menu to MGM's mobile menu?

in CJ menu it use to create a hamburger menu for non-primary menus, and when clicked they would open in a similar fashion, but a lot of complaints about how it was "confusing", for MGM, there is an option in group settings, to hide on mobile. if you disable it, it will show in tablet/phone view, but it will appear regularly.

  11. on my site there are 2 main packages, one starting at $75 (its has a term of 6 months, and the subscription fee is $30 every 6 months) and then there is the one package which is $95 and then $50 once a year for the subscription. here on IPS it is $75 i believe with a $35 every six month subscription fee.

I prefer purchases to be on my site, as the license key and renewals are all handled automatically (no delays), but if bought from here, there can be delays (as i am not always available) as it needs to be done manually.

For CJ Duplicate Logger, would you consider incorporating the already built-into IPS device check on members? I have a lot of users who have been IP banned (thanks to this app) who are coming back with a different IP, but on the same device. IPS ALREADY logs if a device has been used by more than one member:

It's cheap to get a new IP, but it's not cheap to get a new device. A device check would make this application utterly complete. Please consider.

    Thanks!

I support the suggestion by @Gilly.  Its probably a more accurate method than IP address too

actually guys, they use a very similar method to what i do to track duplicate members.

here is my laptop both logged into my localhost, one on the left is chrome ,the one on the right is firefox. the "device key" is a random string they generate to identify the "device" (which should really be changed to browser lol)

Probably a good idea to have some sort of notice when the subscription has expired because it’s one of those things you don’t look at until you need to upgrade. Similar to how IPS has a message for when their license expires.

they send out under donotreply@codingjungle.com i have checked, and i do show them being sent out for over the last year to other clients (not just for the chat service), they are probably getting filtered out by spam services, so might be a good idea to add donotreply@codingjungle.com to the spam white list.
