    Yep, I can confirm that - both 4.6.12.1 & 4.7.0 beta 6
I've resurrected an old 4.6.9 test installation locally, issue doesn't occur with that version.

Ok guys I found the source of the problem.
This is el defo an issue with Invision backend. This is also why this invisioncommunity forum does not experience this issue. They have the "Paste as rich text initially, but allow user to paste as plain text instead." enabled. Anyone else experiencing the duplicating image issue like us is because they have the "Always paste as plain text" enabled. I was able to replicate this in all the browsers I tested.

Invision can you please fix this?
    Thank you.

I did some further testing on MAC. I personally never use the CTRL+C>CTRL+V method so I didn't check previously but the issue is also very much present under MAC OS. I compiled all browsers I used to test this with both methods (CTRL+C>CTRL+V and Drag/Drop). This is very odd. In some instances it's the CTRL+C>CTRL+V and in other instances it's the Drag/Drop that generate these duplicates. Here is a summary of my findings and they can be reproduced consistently. None of the  browers I used have addins/addons.
I also tried doing the same test on this Invisionscommunity forum but this does not occur in none of the browser. However, with Firefox and Firefox based browsers (WaterFox and Tor) the CTRL+C>CTRL+V does not work. No picture is pasted. Only the file name.
This does not seem like an end user related configuration issue.

    It was not.
I just tested it in a single editor window (no refreshing), dragging in two JPGs and two PNGs, neither of which duplicated, followed by a paste using CTRL+V, which did duplicate.

Could you please confirm if this is also on drag/drop?

I've confirmed this on my board using Microsoft Edge. I do not use any clipboard managers (this is a gaming PC, so I keep the bloat to a minimum.)

I got some feedback from one of the user/moderator who is experiencing this behavior. He says that the issue will sometimes disappear for a while then return unexpectedly. No changes are being made on the backend when this happens.
Thought this could help in debugging.

Do you have the ability to record this so I can see? Just as there has to be something we are doing differently to yourselves

Just forgot to say. No third party clipboard manager used in any case scenario. Also happens in Private mode under Firefox.

This is happening to us as well since upgrading to 4.6.12.1. A user is complaining it is happening to him on Chrome. I tried it on both MAC (Safari, Chrome, Firefox etc) and Windows 10 (Chrome) and I wasn't able to replicate it on those browsers. However, I was able to replicate it on Firefox and EDGE on Windows 10.
This occurs when doing a drag and drop. Not when using the "Chose file".

No problem. Please do let us know if its happening after that point. Note however, it was on your site I was testing rather than ours.

Gabriel Torres got a reaction from Hisashi in Fix mentions after user changes their username
    Hi,
The platform allows the user to change their username by themselves. Howerver, mentions in posts, reviews, private messages, etcetera are kept with their old name.
This is a problem for privacy. A very common reason people are changing their username is to change their account from their real name to a nickname. However, all mentions are kept with their old (real) name, allowing them to be identified.
Due to recent privacy laws in our country (LGPD), we need to be able to fix this more easily.
Wehenever a user complains about that, we run a couple of mysql queries to manually fix the issue, but it would be great that, whenever a user changes their name, the platform itself triggered the necessary queries.
    Thanks!

Gabriel Torres got a reaction from Matthew Fay in Multiple-resolution logo images
    Hello,
I am in the process of optimizing our install with the help with Google's Lighthouse, and trying to improve our score in that tool.
Today I succesfuly worked on a issue that I suggest IPS to address in an upcoming release: multiple-resolution logo images.
Here is the warning that we got using lighthouse:

Following the suggestions decribed here: https://web.dev/serve-responsive-images/ and here: https://web.dev/codelab-density-descriptors/, I decided to create three logo images for our install at sizes 460x77 (1x), 920x154 (2x), and 1380x280 (3x). I uploaded them to a new folder (/uploads/logos/), and adjusted the HTML code at the core > front > global > logo template to:
    <a href='{setting="base_url"}' id='elLogo' accesskey='1'><img src="{$logo}" srcset="/uploads/logos/logo-cdh-1x.png 1x, /uploads/logos/logo-cdh-2x.png 2x, /uploads/logos/logo-cdh-3x.png 3x" sizes="460px" alt='{setting="board_name" escape="true"}'></a> Note: I uploaded the 1x version as the logo in the template's settings page.
After this change, our logo looks much crispier and also we got rid of the above warning. In fact, our "Best Practices" score inscreased from 86 to 93! 🙂

I really hope that this helps other administrators who are looking into ways to improve their community's performance, and I hope IPS can make adjustments to fix the recommendations presented by Lighthouse to improve the overall score of our websites.
    Enjoy! 🙂
    Gabriel.

@Gabriel Torres, just found some fancy extensions how people can do it https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/fonts generator😉 So, it will be difficult to prevent them to use it.

You're welcome to add this in our official Feature Suggestion but as OpenType mentioned, there are a lot of these characters. If they are spelling out something you do not allow or overall something you do not want to allow, it may just come down to your terms of service and moderation.

There are dozens of types of these “effects”.
    𝔅𝔩𝔞𝔠𝔨𝔩𝔢𝔱𝔱𝔢𝔯, 𝒮𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉, 𝔻𝕠𝕦𝕓𝕝𝕖-𝕊𝕥𝕣𝕦𝕔𝕜, Ⓒⓘⓡⓒⓛⓔⓓ, uʍop-ǝpısd∩ …
If you really want to ban it, make it part of your rules, just as you would with questionable content. Not everything can be prevented through technical measures.

The only way to do that would be to use the word filters to block posts on each of those individual characters, using loose matching. Of course a painstaking process, but that is the only way you would be able to do so at present

There is no styling applied. Those are mathematical characters, which are meant to be displayed like that. Just like you can post emoji without requiring styling.

Not arguing with a man who is literally nicknamed after a font format 🙂

I would check if they are running the same browser as yourself there, and if there is anything else common that you are both running
