Of course you did. Once you start a public rant that compares us to Nazis, the best course of action is to keep quiet on any details that back up your complaint. ;)

Regardless, I see no way to move foward and will lock this topic. I have nothing further to say either publicly or via PMs. Jawohl

I send them PM's from time to time and either don't get immediate responses or no responses at all. BUT considering how busy they are and considering how many PM's they probably get from a lot of others, I don't assume anything by it. They're either too busy to respond, meant to get back to you but forgot, or didn't know that a response was necessary.

    In short, relax. :)

Not really asking, just know that someone is going to create a thread asking, so thought I'd toss it up so that the initial "When It's Ready™" and complaints about people trying to rush IPS will all be out of the way.

    :)

    Disclaimer:
If you think I'm actually asking when IP.Board v3.0.2 will be released, then you need to read this post again. Continue until you stop thinking that I'm seriously asking.

Some unicode symbols trigger browsers to display text as RTL. No big deal.

As for the discussion at hand, the top button serves no useful purpose at all. Not even a little. It lets you get to the top of the screen, that's it. Except there's about 10 different methods of accomplishing this, with or without a mouse button or keyboard, built into your operating system and browser already. It's clutter that serves no purpose, which we've avoided with 3.0 in an effort to streamline the user interface and make it easier for novices. Some users, when they see 15000 buttons on a row, tend to just ignore them all (guilty!). Now, you only have icons relevant to the data point (e.g. for posts, icons related to that post, of which "the top button" does not qualify).

Meh, this has been debated to death. Suffice it to say, Rikki has had no intentions of bringing it back, and I don't blame him. ;)

Version 3.0.1 won't be out Monday so don't wait up :)

It should be out this week. We usually do releases on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Never Friday or Monday as it's the end / start of work week.

    #show_topics# would be better/worse/w/e :P

I think #show_modules# will benefit those who make hooks that are restricted to certain sections on the board. Global Forum Message and IP.Shoutbox, just to mention a some.

This isn't directed at the software but at an individual, maybe consider a feeback spot for staff or devs or whatever.

I have to say that out of everyone (everyone being staff/devs in this case) who is here, terabyte has helped me (with code error) more than all other staff/devs combined. He's a credit to the dev team and knows his stuff.

Not long winded today so to sum it up: Thanks tb for your assistance buddy and thanks to whomever put him as a dev.

    peace

We want to make sure you're really REALLY sure.

"I selected delete from a dropdown menu, then clicked submit, then confirmed the popup but I didn't really want to delete the topic!!! Why didn't IPB ask me again to make sure I was really really sure??!?!"

For being able to make new settings, someone may want to be able to list the different available applications as a menu selection. Much like #show_groups# and #show_forums#.

Also would be nice if the popup with the differences needs to be closed clicking on the close button because if you click by mistake outside it you need to click again compare differences. (probably you can make this change also in 3.0.1 instead of 3.1 :P )[*]A nice addition in ACP would be to make the same modular thing made for the groups also for the forums, I know a lot of mods out there adds settings to each forum and a system like the one used for the group permissions would help a lot modders.[*]Can you please add 2 more parameters ($lang_file and $app) in the getTemplate function of the hanEmail class? If we use an email template from another file we ned to load it before calling the function and if for any reason the check of the language set by the user fails the board loads the default file with the default language that of course won't have our custom email templates. For now I solved the problem writing my own getTemplate functions but honestly is a bit annoying that I need to copy/paste the same function just to change the template name (I think I have done the same thing for IP.Tracker if I don't mistake :P)[*]Now that you added the small icon to let us know which topic we are tracking in forum view can you also add a link to that image so we can unsubscribe from those topics without opening them one after one? :o (Maybe with some nice ajax code to not reload the page :D)
In the skin editor when you click the button "Compare Differences" the popup is too small, it should open with a bigger size like when you click on the green button on a template tab to work full screen on the template.

Not a good idea. What if you are in a thread and further down the page, people have been farting. Then you'd have to go crack open a window to keep from being knocked out. What's worse, what if the person is all sweaty and hasn't showered for a month. Then suddenly, your computer would stink like a sewer.

lol, I'm no math whiz, but I dont think $149 is a 9100% price increase over $49. But any way, its pretty crazy to think that the price of the forum software wouldn't increase over the years, profit/revenue isn't a bad thing, and the price of everything else has increased in those years (Though, i doubt by 9100% :D)

Also, a lot of the complaints/concerns in the thread seem like they aren't really viable to blame on invision? Modifications are provided via 3rd parties, and those are the people you want to talk about with having them upgraded/maintained.

Um, no, that's not profit, that's revenue. That money then has to go toward paying the developers to write new code, the support staff for answering tickets and processing payments, the management who run the company, the ISP for internet access (which definitely isn't cheap for businesses who do their own hosting), and all of the building rent, utilities, upkeep, and maintenance at their headquarters. And even then I'm sure I'm missing something. (Also, on what planet is $140 9100% greater than $49?)

Bottom line, IPS isn't raking in mountains of pure profit from every sale. It bothers me when people forget that there's overhead to software development (says the guy with a grandfathered lifetime license of IP.Board for $129  )...

I would love to tell you, I really would, but some people take release date estimates far too seriously and will go crazy if we miss an estimated date.
