    Ah, ok. To summarize...

You want to be able to use javascript in the editor.

We turned it off because a few of our members felt the need to target certain other members and negative rep all their posts. In any event, you can turn it on and off and there are some controls for it in the ACP.

When has any member of staff said it wouldn't be ready for final?

That is wrong. We have every intention of releasing subscriptions manager with IP.Board 3.0 before handing it over to the community... Matt has been working on it for a while.

We never give 'fake' release dates, when we do give dates, they are based on the best information we have available at the time. I would also say that we are not far off from the June estimated release date.

For the record, I still don't understand why the layout was changed. It worked perfectly well and looked more than organized as a table.

well then dont turn it on !! OMG !!

Allow others who might need it to have 5 revisions MAX and they have to be manually enabled, per forum and then per topic from the end-user !!

so the important topics are stored in one table which should be backed up rather than the whole database OMG !

    OMG OMG OMG !!

I think there are a lot of people that would really appreciate that as well. It has become a very common issue with the new software on my forum. Maybe just an option in the cpanel that would allow us to choose which we want it to do. Either way, it should certainly be an option.

We definitely need this. I have installed the RC on my live board, and thats about the only complaint I am getting. Everyone liked the way the old "view new posts" page worked

For the record, if you are insistent upon paying for 3.x separate from your license I can forward you my paypal email. I don't mind, really.

Well done releasing IPB 3 RC1! You did amazing job!

After all hard work you did.. I think you should start charging people if they want to upgrade to IPB 3 Final for like $20 or something. I don't mind paying.

If they don't want to pay they will have to wait for 1 year for free upgrade to IPB 3 (with IPB licence). Of course IPB 2.3.x security update will be provided only.

    Think about Marketing ;)

I can say it's coming soon. As of right now it's been 2 weeks + 3 days. It's not like we're 3 months off from the estimate. ;) He did say "or so" which you should interpret to mean "plus or minus a week roughly".

Thanks guys, go nuts and test it out as much as you can. Please don't be alarmed if we seem to take a minor step back with some stuff, I've fiddled with a few things, mostly:

Topic Marking CSS Caching Memory Debugging So let me know if you see anything odd with any of that.

Brett B reacted to Jyosua in Quotestripping in IPB 2.3.6 leaves extra linebreaks
I noticed when I upgraded to IPB 2.3.6, extra linebreaks were left behind when quotes were stripped, after you quote a post containing quotes. I opened a ticket about this, and they pointed me to the sources/classes/post/class_post.php file, which had the linebreak stripping line commented out. I uncommented it, however, that removed ALL linebreaks, which wasn't desired either. Instead, I resolved my issue by leaving that line commented out, and instead inserting the following before the quotestripping line:

$tmp_post = preg_replace( "#(?:\n|\r|\r\n)(\ It effectively removed any extra linebreaks left behind from the quotestripping. You could integrate this into the quotestripping function, but I decided not to because I may want to change the way this is handled on my forum later. Anyways, I just wanted to let you guys be aware of this issue. :) I didn't post this in the bug section because it's not a bug per se, but I'm suggesting it be added.

I'm afraid we've stated over and over with every beta release NOT to update your live site. We said it would not be supported, and we've publicly stated that we did not expect to end up releasing an upgrade path from betas to final. The only reason the upgrader is available presently is purely for testing.

I'm sorry that you are in this position, but it is not something we will likely be able to accommodate.

Your work load may not be as big as it seems, hard to say. We do have a database checker int he ACP that will fix any database problems it can find - so long as you are able to access the ACP.

Also, -webkit-border-radius is missing out from the fun on the bars unlike Mozilla. :(

I have to agree, people are NOT paying for NEW RELEASES, they are paying for support and support upgrades/releases, IPS could easily make it's customers pay for a new license to get the LATEST version example from 2.x.x -> 3.x.x - just like other software developers do. When you buy Adobe photoshop 4 do you expect to get adobe photoshop 7 for free because you bought the first one? Not at all, so in return IPS are being generous.

Why does anyone care so much about when it's released, anyway? Stop rushing the process which, for the most part, has been going well thus far.
